2014 Capital Football Season
The 2014 Capital Football season was the second season under the new competition format in the Australian Capital Territory. The competition consisted of two divisions across the ACT. The overall premier for the new structure qualified for the National Premier Leagues finals series, competing with the other state federation champions in a final knockout tournament to decide the National Premier Leagues Champion for 2014. 2014 National Premier Leagues Capital Football The 2014 National Premier League ACT season was played over 18 rounds, beginning on 4 March with the regular season concluding on 24 August 2014. Capital Football
Capital Football is the trading name for the ACT Football Federation Incorporated, the state governing body for soccer in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), but also has affiliated clubs based in surrounding areas of New South Wales. It is affiliated with Football Australia, the national governing body. History Capital Football was founded in the 1960s as the ''ACT Soccer Federation Incorporated''. The organisation replaced the defunct ''Federal Capital Territory Soccer Football Association'' which controlled soccer in the ACT between 1926 and 1932 and the ''Federal Monaro District Soccer Association'' which lasted two years (1932–33). The Great Depression and World War II saw soccer all but disappear in the ACT with no new federation established and the odd team playing infrequent matches in NSW. West Canberra Wanderers Football Club, previously known as Woden-Weston FC is a semi-professional football club based in Canberra, Australia. The club currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Capital Football. West Canberra Wanderers FC field teams in Junior and senior (adult) men's and women's National Premier League competitions in the ACT. The club has historic links to the community clubs ''Woden Valley Football Club'' and ''Weston-Molonglo Football Club.'' Australian National University Football Club (more commonly known as ANU FC) is an Australian amateur association football club representing the Australian National University based in Acton, Australian Capital Territory. Founded in 1962, the club is inclusive of both current and graduated students and currently competes in the ACT National Premier Leagues 2. ACT State League
The Capital Football State League is an amateur soccer league system based in the Canberra, Australian Capital Territory (ACT) region. The league system is organised and run by Capital Football. It represents levels three and below for men in the ACT league pyramid beneath the ACT NPL 1 and Capital Premier League, and level 2 and below for women beneath the ACT NPL W. Men's structure The ACT State League men's structure is broken into fourteen leagues composed of ten All-Age State League Competitions and four age restricted Masters Competitions. The system consists of a pyramid of leagues. Divisions 1-4 are bound together by the principle of promotion and relegation. The most successful club in each league rises to a higher league, whilst the club that finishes at the bottom of their league finds itself sinking down a level. Tom McLachlan
Thomas Alroe McLachlan (1912–1986) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL).
