2014 CHAN
The 2014 African Nations Championship, known as the 2014 CHAN for short and as the Orange African Nations Championship for sponsorship purposes, was the 3rd edition of the biennial association football tournament organized by CAF, featuring national teams consisting players playing in their respective national leagues. Originally supposed to be hosted in Libya, it was held in South Africa from 11 January to 1 February 2014. Since this edition, all results of the compositions of this competition was computed to calculate the forthcoming FIFA World Rankings. Hosts South Africa were knocked out of the group stages owing to their national league not pausing during the tournament, as most of their clubs would not release their players. This caused CAF to alter the rules for future editions of the tournament. Qualified nations Draw The CHAN 2014 official draw was conducted at the CAF Headquarters on 18 September 2013 in Egypt. African Nations Championship
The African Nations Championship, known for sponsorship purposes as the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship and commonly abbreviated as CHAN, is a biennial African association football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) since 2009 and first announced in September 2007. The participating teams must consist of players playing in their national league competitions. The DR Congo and Morocco are the most successful teams in this tournament with two titles each, followed by Tunisia, Libya and incumbent champions Senegal with one title each. The tournament began life in 2009 with 8 teams, which was doubled for the 2nd edition up until the 6th and is currently contested by 18 teams since the 2022 edition. Ivory Coast National Football Team
The Ivory Coast national football team ( French: ''Équipe de football de Côte d'Ivoire'', recognized as the Côte d'Ivoire by FIFA) represents Ivory Coast in men's international football. Nicknamed ''the Elephants'', the team is managed by the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF). The team has won the Africa Cup of Nations three times, in 1992, 2015 and 2024, and has qualified for the FIFA World Cup three times, in 2006, 2010, and 2014. Ivory Coast's home colours are all orange. Since 2020 their home games have been played at Alassane Ouattara Stadium, in Abidjan. Cape Town Stadium
The Cape Town Stadium (; ; known until 2025 as the DHL Stadium for sponsorship reasons) is an association football (soccer) and rugby union stadium in Cape Town, South Africa, that was built as part of the country's hosting of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. During the planning stage, it was known as the Green Point Stadium, which was the name of the older stadium on an adjacent site, and this name was also used frequently during World Cup media coverage. It is the home ground of WP Rugby and the Stormers (since 2021), and Premiership club Cape Town City (since 2016). It has also hosted the South Africa Sevens rugby tournament since 2015 and hosted the Rugby 7s World Cup in 2022. The stadium is located in Green Point, between Signal Hill and the Atlantic Ocean, close to the Cape Town city center and to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, a popular tourist and shopping venue.
