2014 British GT Season
The 2014 Avon Tyres British GT season was the 22nd season of the British GT Championship. The season began on 19 April at Oulton Park and finished on 14 September at Donington Park, after ten rounds held over seven meetings. Ecurie Ecosse driver Marco Attard won the Group GT3, GT3 championship, while Ross Wylie and Jake Giddings took the GT4 championship for Beechdean Motorsport. Entry list Race calendar and results The provisional 2014 calendar was announced on 5 October 2013. Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Spa-Francorchamps replaced Circuit Park Zandvoort, Zandvoort as the overseas round. All races except Belgian round at Spa, were held in the United Kingdom. British GT Championship
The British GT Championship is a sports car racing series based predominantly in the United Kingdom. The series was originally created by the British Racing Drivers' Club in 1993 and, for its first two seasons, was known as the National Sports GT Challenge. The series is currently run by the SRO Motorsports Group, while Pirelli began its first season as the championship's official sole tyre supplier in 2016. Two classes currently compete in the championship: GT3 and GT4. A consolidation of GT regulations and significant manufacturer support saw British GT first introduce a GT3 class in 2005. The category later mirrored FIA Group GT3 and used near-identical regulations to the FIA GT3 European Championship from 2006 onwards. GT3 rules include extensive balance of performance and handicap weights to make cars artificially more equal. The Bentley Continental GT is a grand touring car manufactured and marketed by the British company Bentley Motors since 2003. Liam Griffin (born 9 March 1973 in Chipping Barnet, Barnet, Greater London) is a British racing driver and businessman. He is the son of John Griffin (businessman), John Griffin and was CEO of minicab company Addison Lee for 10 years before carrying out a management buyout with the private equity firm Carlyle.
