2014 Atlanta Dream Season
The 2014 Atlanta Dream season was the 7th season for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association, and their 1st season under head coach, Michael Cooper. This was also the first season the Dream has finished first in the East. In the last game of the Eastern Semis, the Dream had a 16-point lead at the end of the 3rd quarter, but gave the other team the lead and lost 81–80. Michael Cooper
Michael Jerome Cooper (born April 15, 1956), nicknamed "Coop", is an American basketball coach and former player. He played for the Los Angeles Lakers during his entire career in the National Basketball Association (NBA), winning five NBA championships with the Lakers during their Showtime era. He was an eight-time selection to the NBA All-Defensive Team, including five times on the first team. He was named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 1987. Cooper was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2024. The Lakers retired his 21 jersey in 2025. As a coach, Cooper led the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) to two championships and the Albuquerque Thunderbirds to one NBA G League title. Tiffany Kiara Hayes (born September 20, 1989) is an American-Azerbaijani professional basketball player for the Golden State Valkyries of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Hayes played college basketball for the Connecticut Huskies, playing for the 2009 and 2010 NCAA National Champions. Early life Hayes was born September 20, 1989, in Winter Haven, a city in Central Florida, to Dorothy and Renard Hayes. Hayes played basketball for Winter Haven High School in Winter Haven, Florida. Rebekah Gardner
Rebekah Gardner (born July 9, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the New York Liberty of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She played college basketball at UCLA. College career During her first three years at UCLA, Gardner was mainly a role player off the bench for the Bruins. Her freshman season Gardner scored a then career-high 13 points over USC. During her sophomore year, Gardner made 7 starts for the Bruins and then increased her career-high in points to 19 against Washington State. Nádia Colhado
Nádia Gomes Colhado (Marialva, February 25, 1989) is a retired Brazilian professional basketball player. She has competed for the Brazil women's national basketball team at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, the 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women, and FIBA Americas tournaments. During the 2013–14 Brazilian championship (LBF), Colhado played with Érika de Souza and Tiffany Hayes, both from the WNBA's Atlanta Dream, for Sport Recife. While Dream coach Michael Cooper visited his players, he was impressed with Colhado and invited her to the team's training camp prior to the 2014 WNBA season. Jacqueline Ann Gemelos (Greek: Τζάκι Γέμελου; born November 22, 1988) is an American-Greek former professional basketball player and coach. Early life and college career Born and raised in Stockton, California, Jacqueline Ann Gemelos graduated from St. Mary's High School in 2006. Gemelos was widely regarded as the most recruited player in her high school class, but she suffered five knee injuries during her high school and college career. Samantha Prahalis (born January 23, 1990, in Commack, New York) is an American basketball player who last played for the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA and currently for the Sardinian team CUS Cagliari. She went to Commack High School and played collegiately for Ohio State. USA Basketball Prahalis was a member of the USA Women's U18 team which won the gold medal at the FIBA Americas Championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Matee Ajavon (born May 7, 1986) is a Liberian-American basketball player. A 5'8" guard, Ajavon was chosen by the Houston Comets as the fifth overall draft pick in the 2008 WNBA draft. Early life As a child, Ajavon immigrated to the United States with her family from Monrovia, Liberia. High school Ajavon graduated from Malcolm X Shabazz High School in Newark, New Jersey.
