2014 Arimex Challenger Trophy
The 2014 Arimex ATP Challenger Trophy was a professional tennis tournament played on clay courts. It was the eighth edition of the tournament which was part of the 2014 ATP Challenger Tour. It took place at the TC EMPIRE in Trnava, Slovakia from 15 to 21 September 2014. Clay Court
A clay court is one of the types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Clay courts are made of crushed stone, brick, shale, or other unbound mineral aggregate depending on the tournament. The French Open uses clay courts, the only Grand Slam tournament to do so. Clay courts are more common in Continental Europe and Latin America than in North America, Asia-Pacific or Britain. Two main types exist: red clay, the more common variety, and green clay, also known as "rubico", which is a harder surface. Although less expensive to construct than other types of tennis courts, the maintenance costs of clay are high as the surface must be rolled to preserve flatness. Victor Hănescu
Victor Hănescu (born 21 July 1981) is a former Romanian tennis player. His career-high singles ranking was world no. 26. Professional career Hănescu attained a career-high singles ranking of No. 26 on 6 July 2009. In a Davis Cup match against the United States, he suffered a severe rib injury, and a subsequent injury sidelined him further in May 2006. Antonio Veić
Antonio Veić (born 18 February 1988) is a Croatian former professional tennis player and current coach. His highest singles ranking is 119, which was reached on 14 May 2012. Tennis career 2009 Veić received a wild card for Zagreb Indoors and caused an upset as he beat ex-top 10 player Guillermo Cañas 4–6, 6–4, 6–2. Betfair started an internal investigation after Cañas had been "trading as a rank outsider" although Veić was considered an underdog before the match. Artem Vitaliyovych Smirnov ( uk, Артем Віталійович Смирнов; born 2 February 1988) is a Ukrainian tennis player playing on the ATP Challenger Tour. Franko Škugor
Franko Škugor (; born 20 September 1987) is a Croatian professional tennis player who mainly competes on the ATP Challenger Tour and specialized in doubles. He has a career-high ATP doubles ranking of World No. 17 achieved on 22 April 2019. He is best known for his very powerful serve up to 230 km/h (143 mph) along with very strong groundstrokes. Along with doubles partner and fellow Croatian Nikola Mektić, he reached the doubles semifinals at the 2017 Wimbledon Championships and with Brit Dominic Inglot the semifinals of the 2018 Wimbledon Championships. Dennis Novak (; born 28 August 1993, in Wiener Neustadt) is an Austrian professional tennis player. Novak achieved a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 85 in March 2020. Victor Crivoi (born 25 May 1982) is a Romanian former tennis player. His career high ranking is No. 75, achieved on 17 August 2009. In 2005, he played in the International Tennis Federation's Professional Circuit and won seven titles. As a result, he was named the ITF's "Player Of The Year" for 2005. At the end of 2005, he was ranked No. 269 by the ATP, up from No. 488 at the year's start.
