2013–14 FC Karpaty Lviv Season
The 2013–14 FC Karpaty Lviv season was the 51st season in club history. Review and events On 13 June 2013 FC Karpaty gathered at club's base for medical inspection after vacations. Due to financial difficulties, the club proposed that most of the players should re-sign their contracts with a decrease of salary, but 15 prominent players refused the proposal and were banished from the first team and left to train in Lviv. While the new head coach Oleksandr Sevidov took the remaining 16 players to pre-season training camp in Slovenia on 21 June 2013. Football Club Karpaty Lviv ( ) is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Lviv. In 2020–21 the club was reorganized and changed owner. During that period there existed two clubs with the same name, one at professional level competitions, another at amateur. History Early years (1963–68) The team of Karpaty was founded on 18 January, 1963. In 1961 Silmash Lviv won the championship of Lviv Oblast but lost its promotional play-off against Naftovyk Drohobych to qualify for the Soviet Class B championship. Wildon
Wildon () is a small town located between Leibnitz and Graz in the Austrian country of Styria. History The modern village of Wildon was first mentioned in 1219. It was mainly known due to a minstrel called Herrand von Wildonie, who lived during the 13th century and was also engaged in local politics. Wildon is also an old Germanic first name. According to legends, Wildon received its name from a wild man who was living in a cave on the nearby Schlossberg hill. Legend has it that a woman living in the village went up to the cave, and killed the wild man with a pair of knitting needles so that the villagers could then go up and enjoy the cave. A medieval ruin is also situated on that hill. The nearby municipality Allerheiligen bei Wildon received its name because of its proximity to Wildon. Aras Özbiliz (; born 9 March 1990) is a former professional footballer who played as a winger. Born in Turkey, he represented the Armenia national team. Early life Özbiliz was born on 9 March 1990 in the Bakırköy district of Istanbul, Turkey to Armenian parents. He was named after the Aras River, a body of water in Armenia. FC Kuban () was a Russian professional football club based in Krasnodar, which now only plays on a regional level. The team began playing in the Russian Premier League in 2011, having for won the Russian First Division a year prior. By then, it was one of the oldest professional football clubs in the country, with its foundation being linked to the Soviet NKVD as Dynamo Krasnodar.
