2013–14 EHF Champions League
The 2013–14 VELUX EHF Champions League was the 54th edition of Europe's premier club handball tournament and the 21st edition under the current EHF Champions League format. HSV Hamburg was the defending champion. The VELUX EHF FINAL4 was played on 31 May–1 June at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany. SG Flensburg-Handewitt won the title for the first time after defeating THW Kiel 30–28 in the final. EHF Champions League
The Men's EHF Champions League is the most important club handball competition for men's teams in Europe and involves the leading teams from the top European nations. The competition is organised every year by EHF. The official name for the men's competition is the EHF Champions League Men. The EHF coefficient rank decides which teams have access and in which stage they enter. Eligibility and qualifying Each year, the EHF publishes a ranking list of its member federations. The first 9 nations are automatically permitted to participate in the tournament with their national champion. The national federation ranked one in the EHF European League currently Germany, is awarded a second qualification berth for the domestic runner-up. The remaining 6 positions are designated through wildcards, with each national federation without 2 teams already qualified able to submit a single applicant. RK Gorenje
Rokometni klub Gorenje Velenje ( en, Gorenje Velenje Handball Club), commonly referred to as RK Gorenje Velenje or simply Gorenje, is a Slovenian handball club from Velenje that competes in the Slovenian First League, the top tier of Slovenian handball. They play their games at the Red Hall ('' sl, Rdeča dvorana''). The club has won four Slovenian Championships and three Slovenian cup titles. Gorenje also participated in the EHF competitions for many seasons, including the EHF Cup, the EHF Cup Winners' Cup, and the EHF Champions League. Together with Celje, they are the only club that have participated in every season of the Slovenian First League since its formation in 1991. The club was known as RK Šoštanj and ŠRK Velenje in the past.
