2013 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
The 2013 IIHF World U20 Championship (commonly known as the 2013 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships) was the 37th edition of the IIHF World U20 Championship, Ice Hockey World Junior Championship (WJC). It was hosted in Ufa, Russia. It began on December 26, 2012, and ended with the gold medal game played on January 5, 2013. The United States men's national junior ice hockey team, United States defeated defending-champion Sweden men's national junior ice hockey team, Sweden 3–1 to win their third title, their first one since 2010 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, 2010. Ufa Arena
The Ufa Arena is an 8,522-seat multi-purpose arena in Ufa, Russia that opened in 2007. It was built on the site of the Trud Stadium (Ufa), which was demolished in 2005. The Ufa Arena replaced Ice Palace Salavat Yulaev as the home of Kontinental Hockey League ice hockey team, Salavat Yulaev Ufa. The first events in the arena were the first two games of the 2007 Super Series, a hockey series between Canada and Russia juniors. Kari Markus Granlund (born 16 April 1993) is a Finnish professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing with Genève-Servette HC of the National League (NL). Joel Armia (; born 31 May 1993) is a Finnish professional ice hockey winger for the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected in the first round, 16th overall, by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2011 NHL entry draft.
