2013 Washington Spirit Season
The 2013 season was Washington Spirit's first season of existence in which they competed in the National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's soccer in the United States. Review The inaugural Spirit roster began to assemble on January 11, 2013 as part of the NWSL Player Allocation, goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris (USA), defender Ali Krieger (USA), midfielder Lori Lindsey (USA), defender Robyn Gayle (CAN), midfielder Diana Matheson (CAN), defender Alina Garciamendez (MEX) and midfielder Teresa Worbis (MEX) were named to the team. During the February 7, 2013 NWSL Supplemental Draft, the team selected Stephanie Ochs, Tori Huster, Jordan Angeli, Natasha Kai, Megan Mischler and Heather Cooke. Washington Spirit
The Washington Spirit is an American professional soccer club based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area that participates in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). It is a continuation of the D.C. United Women of the W-League and continues to field both an amateur WPSL team and a youth team, both under the Spirit name. History Establishment The foundation of the National Women's Soccer League was announced on November 21, 2012, with Washington selected as a host for one of the eight teams selected for the inaugural season. Domenica Hodak
Domenica Rose Hodak (born August 20, 1991) is an American soccer midfielder and defender who last played for Washington Spirit in the National Women's Soccer League. Early life Hodak was raised in Sayville, New York, where she attended Sayville High School and was a two-year captain for the girls soccer squad. She was a three-time first team all-state and two-time All-Long Island selection by Newsday. Hodak earned 2008 NYSCAA All-Region honors and was a three-time first team all-state member as well as a two-time Suffolk County Small School Player of the Year. Top Drawer Soccer named her one of the nation's top 100 recruits. Gabriella Monique "Kika" Toulouse (born May 3, 1989) is an American soccer player. Early life Raised in Arlington, Virginia, Toulouse attended Bishop Denis J. O'Connell High School where she helped the team to three Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship titles. She also played club soccer for Braddock Road Club (BRYC) and won six Virginia State Cup Championships with two different teams within the club. University of Virginia Cavaliers Toulouse attended the University of Virginia where she played for the Cavaliers from 2007 to 2011. Colleen Williams (born April 5, 1991) is an American former soccer forward and midfielder who played for the University of Dayton from 2009 to 2012, the United States under-23 women's national soccer team in 2013, and the Washington Spirit in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in 2013. Early life Born to David and Theresa Williams, Colleen was raised in Titusville, New Jersey, where she attended Hopewell Valley Central High School and led the soccer team to back-to-back Prep A State Championships in 2005 and 2006. Starfire Sports
Starfire Sports is a multi-purpose stadium and sporting facility in Tukwila, Washington, United States. It is located on the banks of the Green River, just south of Seattle. The stadium is operated by the nonprofit corporation Starfire Sports and is home to several soccer and rugby teams. Seattle Reign
OL Reign is an American professional women's soccer team based in Seattle, Washington. Founded by Bill and Teresa Predmore in 2012 as Seattle Reign FC, it was one of eight inaugural members of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Tifanny Janea McCarty (born December 14, 1990) is an American soccer forward who plays for Þór/KA in the Úrvalsdeild kvenna. She previously played for the Houston Dash, and FC Kansas City, and Washington Spirit in the NWSL as well as Albirex Niigata Ladies in Japan's Nadeshiko League and Medkila IL in Norway. The Boston Breakers were an American professional soccer club based in the Boston neighborhood of Allston. The team competed in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).
