2013 Qatar Total Open
The 2013 Qatar Total Open was a professional women's tennis tournament played on hard courts. It was the 11th edition of the event and part of the WTA Premier 5 series of the 2013 WTA Tour. It took place at the International Tennis and Squash complex in Doha, Qatar between 11 and 17 February 2013. WTA Premier Tournaments
WTA Premier tournaments was a category of tennis tournaments in the Women's Tennis Association, WTA Tour, implemented from the reorganization of the schedule in 2009 until 2020. In 2020, Premier events included: * Four "Premier Mandatory" events in Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid, and Beijing with prize money of $4.5 million. * Five "Premier 5" events in Doha, Rome, Cincinnati, Toronto/Montreal, and Wuhan with prize money of $2 million. * Twelve "Premier" events with prize money of $600,000 to $1,000,000. The ranking points awarded to the winners of these tournaments are: * "Premier Mandatory" 1000 * "Premier 5" 900 and * "Premier" 470. This compares to 2,000 points for winning a Grand Slam Tournament ("major"), up to 1,500 points for winning the WTA Finals, and 280 for winning an WTA International tournaments, International tournament. Samantha Jane Stosur (born 30 March 1984) is an Australian former professional tennis player. She is a former List of WTA number 1 ranked doubles tennis players, world No. 1 in doubles, a ranking which she first achieved on 6 February 2006 and held for 61 consecutive weeks. Vera Dushevina
Vera Yevgenyevna Dushevina (; born 6 October 1986) is a Russian former professional tennis player. She won one singles title and two doubles titles on the WTA Tour. As a junior, she won the Wimbledon Championships, beating Maria Sharapova in the final, while she reached the final of the French Open losing to Anna-Lena Grönefeld. Ekaterina Andreevna Bychkova (; born 5 June 1985) is a Russian former professional tennis player. In her career, Bychkova won ten singles and five doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. Ons Jabeur (born 28 August 1994) is a Tunisian professional tennis player. She has a career-high singles ranking by the WTA of No. 2, achieved on 27 June 2022, making her the highest-ranked African and Arab tennis player in WTA and ATP rankings history. Heidi El Tabakh (born September 25, 1986) is an Egyptian and Canadian former professional tennis player. Her highest singles ranking by the WTA is 146, which she reached in October 2012. Her career-high of 173 in doubles, she set in February 2010. She represented Egypt, the country of her birth, from 2002 to April 2005, but since then has represented Canada. Fatma Al-Nabhani (; born 20 May 1991) is an Omani former tennis player. In her career, she won 10 singles and 14 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit.
