2013 PLFA Season
The 2013 season of the Polish American Football League was the eighth season played by the american football leagues in Poland. Regular season of the Topliga took place between March 23 and June 23, 2013. The Polish champion was determined in the play-off final - the VIII SuperFinal PLFA (known as the Polish Bowl VIII). The Giants Wrocław beat the Warsaw Eagles in the championship game 29–13 hosted at the National Stadium in Warsaw. Polish American Football League
The Polish American Football League or shortly PLFA ( pl, Polska Liga Futbolu Amerykańskiego) was a structured system for the American football competitions in Poland founded in 2004 by the Polish federation PZFA. In 2012, the Topliga was created as a major league with a bid (invitation) rule. The remaining teams are divided into two leagues (PLFA I and PLFA II) between which there was promotion and relegation. There were two eight-man football competitions: PLFA 8 for reserve teams and smaller clubs, and PLFA J for under-17 players. The top four teams from the Topliga regular season entered the playoffs and the winners met in the championship game called the SuperFinał (more commonly known as the ''Polish Bowl''). The Polish hussars (; pl, husaria ), alternatively known as the winged hussars, were a heavy cavalry formation active in Poland and in the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth from 1503 to 1702. Their epithet is derived from large rear wings, which were intended to demoralize the enemy during charge. The hussars ranked as the elite of Polish cavalry until their official disbanding in 1776. Lowlanders Białystok
The Lowlanders Białystok is an American football team based in Białystok, Poland. They play in the Polish Football League. History The team joined to the PLFA II in 2008 PLFA season. Lowlanders won the PLFA II and was promoted to the PLFA I. In the 2009 PLFA season Lowlanders lost all games (including barrage against Kraków Tigers) and were relegated to the second league. In the 2010 PLFA season team lost the PLFA II Final and were promoted to the PLFA I. On May 8, 2011 the Lowlanders won first game in the PLFA against Kozły Poznań 18–12. Lowlanders lost other games and were relegated. The team made it to the semifinals of the Polish American Football League playoffs twice in 2015 and 2016. After the 2017 season, the Lowlanders left the Polish American Football League and joined the new Liga Futbolu Amerykańskiego.
