The winning team of Paul Flemming represented Nova Scotia at the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier in Edmonton, Alberta. Truro, Nova Scotia
Truro ( Mi'kmaq: ''Wagobagitik''; Scottish Gaelic: ''Truru'') is a town in central Nova Scotia, Canada. Truro is the shire town of Colchester County and is located on the south side of the Salmon River floodplain, close to the river's mouth at the eastern end of Cobequid Bay. History The area has been home to the Mi'kmaq people for several centuries. The Mi'kmaq name for the Truro area, "Wagobagitik" means "end of the water's flow". Mi'kmaq people continue to live in the area at the Millbrook and Truro reserves of the Millbrook – We’kopekwitk band. Acadian settlers came to this area in the early 1700s. The Mi'kmaq name for the Truro area was shortened by the settlers to "Cobequid", and the bay to the west of the town is still named Cobequid Bay. Jordan Pinder
Jordan Pinder (born April 24, 1984) is a Canadian curler originally from New Brunswick. He now lives in Blockhouse, Nova Scotia. Career Pinder's father encouraged him to start curling. He has been curling since the age of 14, starting in his hometown of Miramichi. Pinder has been part of Jamie Murphy's team since 2009. Murphy's team had a notable 2010 season, losing in the semifinal of the Nova Scotia Men's Provincial Championship that year. In 2012 the team captured the provincial championship, defeating former Brier champion Mark Dacey. This earned Murphy's team their first trip to the Tim Horton's Brier. Mayflower Curling Club
The Mayflower Curling Club, which was founded in 1905, since 1962 has been located at 3000 Monaghan Drive in Nova Scotia's Halifax Regional Municipality in Halifax. The club is one of the premier curling rinks in Nova Scotia, being home to the teams headed by Colleen Jones, Mark Dacey, Shawn Adams, and Heather Smith-Dacey. The club was host for the curling events during the 2011 Canada Winter Games.
