2013 Interprovincial One-Day Trophy
The 2013 Inter-Provincial Cup was the first season of the Inter-Provincial Cup, the domestic 50-over one-day competition of Ireland. The competition was played between Leinster Lightning, Northern Knights and North West Warriors. The Northern Knights were the inaugural winners of the competition, following a surprise last day defeat of Leinster Lightning by North West Warriors by 71 runs in Strabane. That result meant the Northern Knights finished top of the table with 10 points from four matches. The Inter-Provincial Series has been funded at least partly by the ICC via their TAPP programme. Cricket Ireland, officially the Irish Cricket Union, is the national governing body for cricket on the island of Ireland (both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland), and oversees the national men's and women's cricket teams. Stephen Moreton
Stephen John Patrick Moreton (born 9 September 1984) is a former Irish cricketer. Moreton is a right-handed batsman who bowls leg break. He was born at Birmingham, Warwickshire. While attending Oxford Brookes University, Moreton made his first-class debut for Oxford UCCE against Gloucestershire at the University Parks in 2005. Moreton made five further first-class appearances for Oxford UCCE, the last of which came against Durham in 2006. In his seven first-class matches, he scored a total of 273 runs at an average of 24.81, with a high score of 74. This score, which was one of two half centuries he made came against Lancashire. With the ball, he took 8 wickets at a bowling average of 37.12, with best figures of 2/24. James Norman Knight Shannon (born 12 February 1990) is an Irish former cricketer. Shannon is a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm off spin. On 26 May 2013, Shannon made his One Day International debut for Ireland against Pakistan. In January 2020, Shannon announced his retirement from cricket. Gary Edward Kidd (born 18 September 1985) is an Irish cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a left-arm slow bowler. He participated in the 2004 and 2006 Under-19 World Cups for Ireland. Youth career (2004–2006) Kidd played domestic cricket for Waringstown Cricket Club. He played for Ireland in the 2004 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Bangladesh. He played all seven matches for Ireland and was Ireland's most economical regular bowler, bowling more overs than any other Irish bowler during the tournament. He took 8 wickets at an average of 26.37 and only conceded 3.47 runs per over. Nigel Geoffrey Jones (born 22 April 1982) is a New Zealand-born Irish cricketer. Jones is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium pace. Jones plays international cricket for Ireland. He was born in Timaru, New Zealand. Jones made his List-A debut for Ireland against Jamaica on their tour of the West Indies in 2010. Andrew Roland White (born 3 July 1980) is a former Irish cricketer. He played in the 2007 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies, where Ireland reached the Super 8 stage. He is now a P.E. teacher in Grosvenor Grammar school. Andrew is currently the Free Kicks coach at Ards Football Club. Playing career He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler. Albert van der Merwe (born 1 June 1979) is a South African-born Irish cricketer. Van der Merwe is right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm off break and who played international cricket for Ireland. He was born in Bellville, Cape Province. He was educated at Huguenot High School, Wellington, Cape Province. Van der Merwe captained the North West University (Pukke) (formerly known as Potchefstroomse Universiteit) to their maiden SA University title in 2001.
