2013–14 Taça Da Liga
The 2013–14 Taça da Liga was the seventh edition of the Taça da Liga, a Portuguese football knockout competition organized by the Portuguese League for Professional Football (LPFP). It was contested by the 33 clubs competing in the 2013–14 Primeira Liga and 2013–14 Segunda Liga, the top two tiers and only professional leagues in Portuguese football. The competition began in July 2013 with first-round matches and concluded on 7 May 2014, with the final at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria, where Benfica defeated Rio Ave 2–0 to win a fifth Taça da Liga title. Format The competition format for the 2013–14 edition consists of three rounds plus a knockout phase. The 2013 Volta a Portugal was a men's road bicycle race held from 7 to 18 August 2013. It was the 75th edition of the men's stage race to be held, which was established in 1927. As part of the 2013 UCI Europe Tour, it is rated as a 2.1 event. The Spanish cyclist Alejandro Marque from OFM-Quinta da Lixa won the race. 2013 FIA WTCC Race Of Portugal
The 2013 FIA WTCC Race of Portugal was the seventh round of the 2013 World Touring Car Championship season, the seventh running of the FIA WTCC Race of Portugal and the final European round of the season. It was held on 30 June 2013 at the Circuito da Boavista street circuit in Porto, Portugal. Race one was won from pole position by Yvan Muller for RML. The second race was won by James Nash driving for bamboo-engineering. Background At the halfway point of the season, Yvan Muller was leading the drivers' championship and Michel Nykjær was leading the Yokohama Independents' Trophy. The Honda Civic WTCCs dropped 30 kg when the compensation weights were revised after the previous round. 2013 Taça De Portugal Final
The 2013 Taça de Portugal Final was the final match of the 2012–13 Taça de Portugal, the 73rd season of the Taça de Portugal, the premier Portuguese football cup competition organized by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). The match was played on 26 May 2013 at the Estádio Nacional in Oeiras, and opposed Benfica and Vitória de Guimarães. Vitória defeated Benfica 2–1 and secured their first title in the competition after five previous failed appearances in the final. In Portugal, the final was televised live in HD on RTP1 and Sport TV. As a result of winning the Taça de Portugal, Vitória claimed €300,000 in prize money. It was the 24th edition of the Portugal Open for the men and the 17th for the women, and was part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the 2013 ATP World Tour, and of the International-level tournaments of the 2013 WTA Tour. The 2013 Rally de Portugal was the fourth round of the 2013 World Rally Championship season. The event was based in Faro, Portugal, and started on 11 April and was concluded on 14 April after fifteen special stages, totaling 387 competitive kilometres, including a street stage in Lisbon on 12 April. Report Before the rally The rally was preceded by the "Fafe Rally Sprint", a single-stage exhibition event run over the famous Fafe stages in the country's north which was won by Citroën Total Abu Dhabi WRT driver Dani Sordo. Dani Sordo won the rally's qualifying stage (5 km) and elected to run thirteenth (last WRC) on the road as a result. The 2013 Algarve Cup was the twentieth edition of the Algarve Cup, an annual invitational women's football tournament hosted by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). Teams The following teams were taking part. There were no debutantes, as all teams played in previous editions. Format The twelve invited teams were divided into three groups, and played in a round-robin tournament format within each group. Groups A and B contained the strongest ranked teams, and were the only ones in contention to win the title. The group A and B winners contested the final – to win the Algarve Cup. The runners-up played for third place, and those that finish the group third played for fifth place. The teams in Group C played for places 7–12. The winner of Group C played the team that finished fourth in Group A or B (whichever has the better record) for seventh place. 2013 Volta Ao Algarve
The 2013 Volta ao Algarve was the 39th edition of the Volta ao Algarve cycling stage race. It was rated as a 2.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour, and was held from 14 to 17 February 2013, in Portugal. The race was won by Germany's Tony Martin, of courtesy of his dominant victory in the final ITT stage winning the time trial by over a minute. Martin's winning margin over his teammate and runner-up Michal Kwiatkowski was 58 seconds, and Dutch rider Lieuwe Westra () completed the podium, a further second behind Kwiatkowski and 59 seconds down on Martin. 2012–13 Terceira Divisão
The 2012–13 Terceira Divisão season was the 63rd season of the competition and the 23rd season of recognised fourth-tier football in Portugal. It was the last edition of the competition as Campeonato Nacional de Seniores was created in 2013 to replace the Segunda Divisão and Terceira Divisão (third and fourth tier of the Portuguese football league system respectively) for the 2013–14 season. Overview The league was contested by 82 teams in 6 divisions of 12 teams, and 1 division of 10 teams. Série Madeira was cut from this year. Since it was the last year of the competition a large number of clubs needed to be relegated to achieve the 80 clubs that Campeonato Nacional de Seniores has.
