October 2013 Myanmar Bombings
The October 2013 Myanmar bombings were a string of unexplained bombings that killed three people and injured 10 others from 11 to 17 October 2013 in different parts of Myanmar (Burma). There is no strong evidence to blame a particular group, but these attacks were likely connected. Bombings On 11 October, a bomb blast at a guesthouse in Taungoo Township, Bago Region, killed two people and injured one. Then on 13 October, a bomb exploded at a bus stop in Insein Township, Yangon. The blast damaged a bus stop and a billboard but no one was injured. Another homemade bomb attached to the underside of a truck exploded in Thaketa Township, Yangon when two youths tried to remove a clock attached to the device. The two youths were only slightly injured in the blast. On 14 October, a small mine was found fixed under a table at a restaurant in Yangon and removed safely without being triggered. Naypyidaw, officially spelled Nay Pyi Taw (; ), is the capital and third-largest city of Myanmar. The city is located at the centre of the Naypyidaw Union Territory. It is unusual among Myanmar's cities, as it is an entirely planned city outside of any state or region. The city, then known only as Pyinmana District, officially replaced Yangon as the administrative capital of Myanmar on 6 November 2005; its official name was revealed to the public on Armed Forces Day, 27 March 2006. Wunna Theikdi Stadium
Wunna Theikdi Stadium ( my, ဝဏ္ဏသိဒ္ဒိ အားကစားကွင်း) is a multi-use stadium in Naypyidaw, Myanmar. It can seat 30,000 spectators. The stadium hosted the 2013 Southeast Asian Games and 2014 ASEAN Para Games opening and closing ceremonies. In addition, it hosted the events of 2015 National Sports Festival and 2018 ASEAN University Games. Currently, it is hosting state and region sports competitions. There are offices of Myanmar Olympic Committee and Department of Youth Affairs of Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. 27th Southeast Asian Games
The 2013 Southeast Asian Games (, ), officially known as the 27th Southeast Asian Games, or the 27th SEA Games, and commonly known as Naypyitaw 2013, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event took place in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar from 11 to 22 December 2013, Around 4730 athletes from 11 participating nations competed at the games, which featured 460 events in 34 sports. The games were held from 11 to 22 December 2013. It was the third time for Myanmar in hosting the Southeast Asian Games. The country hosted the Games in 1961 and 1969 respectively in Yangon, then capital of the country. Singapore withdrew its hosting rights due to expected delays in the completion of its new national stadium, it eventually hosted in 2015. 2013 Myanmar Anti-Muslim Riots
The 2013 Myanmar anti-Muslim riots were a series of conflicts in various cities throughout central and eastern Myanmar (Burma). March riots in Meiktila Tensions between Buddhist and Muslim ethnic groups flared into violent clashes in Meiktila, Mandalay Division on 20 March and continued until the 22nd, killing at least 40 and wounding 61 people. The violence started on 20 March after a Muslim gold shop owner, his wife, and two Muslim employees assaulted a Buddhist customer and her husband in an argument over a golden hairpin. A large mob formed and began to destroy the shop. The heavily outnumbered police reportedly told the mob to disperse after they had destroyed the shop. In the evening, a local Buddhist monk not involved in the incident was dragged from his bicycle, doused in petrol, and burnt alive by six Muslim youths at a nearby mosque. '' Thray Sithu'' Nyan Tun ( my, ဉာဏ်ထွန်း; born 12 January 1954) is a Burmese politician who currently serves as a member of parliament in the House of Representatives for Zigon Township constituency. He previously served as Second Vice President of Myanmar from 15 August 2012 to 30 March 2016. He is a commander-in-chief of the Myanmar Navy with the rank of admiral, retired in 2012. He was elected as Second Vice President of Myanmar on 15 August 2012 following the resignation of Tin Aung Myint Oo. Early life Nyan was born on 12 January 1954 in Zigon Township, Bago Region, Myanmar to parent Sein Maung and his wife Thein Tin.
