2013 South American Under-17 Football Championship
The 2013 South American Under-17 Football Championship () was the 15th U-17 tournament for national teams affiliated with CONMEBOL. It was held in Argentina. This tournament gave four berths to the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup, which was held in United Arab Emirates. Choice and background Argentina was chosen as host country, as agreed at a meeting of the executive committee of CONMEBOL on 18 March 2011 at the headquarters of South American football being located in Luque, Paraguay. The meeting lasted about 3 hours and during that time it was decided to have Argentina as the headquarters for both the 2013 South American U-17 and U-20 Tournaments in 2013. The 2013 UEFA Women's Championship, commonly referred to as Women's Euro 2013, was the 11th European Championship for List of women's national association football teams#UEFA, women's national football teams organised by UEFA. 2013 UEFA Women's U-17 Championship
The 2013 UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship was the sixth edition of the UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship. The first matches were played on 3 September 2012. With the return of Slovakia, who haven't played since the inaugural edition, and U-17 newcomers Montenegro, a new record of 44 participating nations was set. The final tournament was played for the last time in Nyon with four teams. Starting the next edition of the tournament, eight countries will contest the final tournament with the host changing every edition. Dutch player Vivianne Miedema set a competition record by netting eight goals in a match against Kazakhstan. She also became the tournament's all-time top scorer with 20 goals. For the first time Belgium and Poland qualified for the final tournament, and also for the first time Germany failed to do so. 2013 Algarve Cup
The 2013 Algarve Cup was the twentieth edition of the Algarve Cup, an annual invitational women's football tournament hosted by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). Teams The following teams were taking part. There were no debutantes, as all teams played in previous editions. Format The twelve invited teams were divided into three groups, and played in a round-robin tournament format within each group. Groups A and B contained the strongest ranked teams, and were the only ones in contention to win the title. The group A and B winners contested the final – to win the Algarve Cup. The runners-up played for third place, and those that finish the group third played for fifth place. The teams in Group C played for places 7–12. The winner of Group C played the team that finished fourth in Group A or B (whichever has the better record) for seventh place. It was played among U-23 (under 23 years old) national teams, while the women's tournament had no age limit. 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup
The 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup was the fifteenth tournament of the FIFA U-17 World Cup. The tournament was held in the United Arab Emirates from 17 October to 8 November. Nigeria won the tournament after defeating Mexico 3–0 in the final, claiming the country's fourth title. Sweden won the bronze with a 4–1 victory over Argentina in the third-place play-off match. Players born after 1 January 1996 could participate in this tournament. 2013 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship
The 2013 UEFA European Under-19 Championship was the 12th edition of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship, since its reclassification from an under-18 tournament in 2002, and the 62nd since the tournament was created in 1948. It was hosted in Lithuania from 20 July to 1 August 2013, in three cities. Only players born after 1 January 1994 were eligible to participate. The qualification matches began in September 2012 and concluded in June 2013, with seven teams joining the Lithuanian hosts in the final tournament. Spain were the two-time defending champions, after defeating Greece in the final of the previous edition, but were eliminated by France in the semi-finals. In the final, France were beaten 1–0 by Serbia. 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup
The 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup was the nineteenth edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup, since its inception in 1977 as the FIFA World Youth Championship. It ran from 21 June to 13 July 2013. At the FIFA Executive Meeting in Zürich on 3 March 2011, Turkey beat other bids to host the series games, from host competition by the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan. In its bid, Turkey suggested the use of thirteen stadiums in ten of its cities, before deciding in February 2012, that seven cities would play host to games. This tournament marked the first time in its history that neither Argentina national under-20 football team, Argentina nor Brazil national under-20 football team, Brazil (the most successful teams in the competition) qualified.
