2013 Florida Tech Panthers Football Team
The 2013 Florida Tech Panthers football team represented the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) during the NCAA Division II football season. They were led by head coach Steve Englehart, who was in his first year at Florida Tech. The Panthers played their home games at Pirate Stadium, approximately one mile from the Florida Tech campus and were a member of the Gulf South Conference. The 2013 season was the Panthers' first, after having football approved at FIT in April, 2010. In a season full of firsts, the Panthers memorably won their first ever game by defeating Stetson, 20-13, on a touchdown with 1:09 to play. Later on, they would earn their first GSC win in dramatic fashion by scoring 21 unanswered fourth quarter points to defeat Shorter, 28-24. They would cap their inaugural campaign by winning on the road for the first time in their first ever bowl game in a 32-20 win over Alderson-Broaddus in the ECAC Futures Bowl. Steve Englehart (American Football)
Steve Englehart (born April 11, 1977) is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, a position he has held since 2022. He was previously the first and only head coach at the Florida Institute of Technology, serving from program's inception in 2013 to its dissolution in 2019. Englehart was also the head football coach at Rose–Hulman Institute of Technology from 2006 to 2009 and an assistant coach at Indiana State University from 2010 to 2012. Personal life Englehart was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Steve Englehart and his wife, Debbie. Steve graduated from Terre Haute North High School and later married Carrie May on May 13, 2000. They have three children together, two sons, Caden and Ty, and a daughter, Lila. Valdosta is a city in and the county seat of Lowndes County, Georgia, United States. As of 2019, Valdosta had an estimated population of 56,457. Valdosta is the principal city of the Valdosta Metropolitan Statistical Area, which in 2021 had a population of 149,590. It includes Brooks County to the west. Valdosta is the home of Valdosta State University, a regional university in the University System of Georgia with over 12,000 students. Philippi, West Virginia
Philippi ('FILL-uh-pea') is a city in and the county seat of Barbour County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 2,928 at the 2020 census. In 1861, the city was the site of the Battle of Philippi, known as the "Philippi Races". Although a minor skirmish, this is considered the earliest notable land action of the American Civil War. Carrollton, Georgia is a city in the northwest region of Georgia, about 45 miles (72 km) west of Atlanta near the Alabama state line. Palm Bay High School
Palm Bay Magnet High School is a public high school located in Melbourne, Florida, north of the boundary of Palm Bay, Florida. It is part of the Brevard County School District. History The school originally opened as Southwest Junior High School in 1960, in an area near what is now the Florida Institute of Technology and a historically black neighborhood in the south Melbourne area. At the time, Stone Middle School was serving as a school primarily for black students in the area, serving multiple grades.
