2013 European Short Course Swimming Championships
The 2013 European Short Course Swimming Championships took place in Herning, Denmark, from 12 to 15 December 2013. Results Men's events Legend: WR – World record; WBT – World best time; ER – European record; CR – Championship record * Vitaly Melnikov originally won silver, but following his disqualification for doping offences, the medals in the event were upgraded. Women's events Legend: WR – World record; WBT – World best time; ER – European record; CR – Championship record Mixed events Medal table On 13 May 2014 Russian swimmer Yuliya Yefimova was officially suspended for doping use and lost 4 gold and 1 silver medals. Another Russian swimmer Vitaly Melnikov was banned in May 2015, which resulted in a loss of an individual silver and two relay gold medals for Russia. Participating nations 559 swimmers from 42 countries swam at the 2013 edition.

Dániel Gyurta
Dániel Gyurta (; born 4 May 1989) is a Hungarian former competitive swimmer who mainly competed in the 200-metre breaststroke. In 2016, Gyurta became a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), he is a member of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) Athletes' Commission since 2013 and a member of the Athletes Commission since 2016. Barry Murphy (swimmer)
Barry Murphy (born 5 October 1985) is an Irish swimmer from Dublin, Ireland. Despite setting 50 m and 100 m freestyle national records in 2008, Murphy just missed qualifying for Ireland's team at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He did, however, manage to qualify for the 2012 Summer Olympics. Murphy was educated at Belvedere College, Dublin. He is a member of the Aer Lingus Swimming Club. Pavel Paulavich Sankovich (; born 29 June 1990) is a Belarusian swimmer, who specialized in sprint backstroke and butterfly events.
