Batu Uban
Batu Uban is a residential neighbourhood at the eastern coast of Penang Island in Malaysia, about south of the centre of George Town, Penang's capital city, and adjacent to the Gelugor suburb. Founded by ethnic Minangkabaus in the early 18th century, Batu Uban is regarded as the oldest Malay settlement on Penang Island. Since the late 20th century, Batu Uban has been significantly urbanised, with residential high-rises now dotting the neighbourhood. Etymology Batu Uban means grey hair rock in Malay. The area was said to have been named after a sea boulder, which was covered in dried grass, off the coast of what is now Batu Uban; this grassy rock resembled white hair from afar. David Katoatau
David Katoatau (born July 17, 1984) is an I-Kiribati weightlifter. At the 2007 World Weightlifting Championships he ranked 37th in the 85 kg category, with a total of 281 kg. He ranked 4th in the 85 kg category at the 2008 Oceania Weightlifting Championships, with a total of 292 kg. Career Katoatau represented Kiribati in weightlifting at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, and also was the national flag bearer at the opening ceremony. In the Olympic tournament he ranked 15th in the 85 kg category, with a total of 313 kg. In 2012, he was the first I-Kiribati ever to qualify on merit for the Olympic Games (rather than receive a wildcard invitation), in any sport. Richard John Edward Patterson (born 30 April 1983) is a weightlifting competitor for New Zealand. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi he won the silver medal in the men's 85 kg weightlifting event. Four years later, at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, he won the gold medal in the same event. He was New Zealand's flagbearer in the 2014 Commonwealth Games closing ceremony. To qualify for the 2012 Summer Olympics Patterson had to rely on fellow New Zealand teammate Tavita Ngalu to lift 150 kg at the Oceania Championships.
