2013 British Soap Awards
The 2013 British Soap Awards honoured the best in British soap operas throughout 2012 and 2013. The ceremony was held on 18 May 2013 at Dock10, Greater Manchester, and was later broadcast on ITV1 and STV. The publicly voted categories were announced on 11 March 2013, with the vote opening that same day. This included a longlist for the Best Actress and Actor awards. The shortlist, including panel nominations, was released on 23 April 2013. ITV soap ''Coronation Street'' won four of the six publicly voted awards, including Best British Soap. They also took home the most awards that night, with eight wins. Channel 4 soap ''Hollyoaks'' won the remaining two public awards, as well as winning Best Newcomer and Best On-Screen Partnership. BBC soap ''EastEnders'' cast member Adam Woodyatt was awarded with the Lifetime Achievement accolade for his role as Ian Beale. The British Soap Awards
The British Soap Awards (BSAs) are an annual awards ceremony in the United Kingdom which honours the best moments in British soap operas. The ceremony is televised on ITV. The trophies given to the winners are made from metal and glass and have been manufactured by British firm Creative Awards since their inception. The majority of the awards are voted for by a panel of industry professionals, while certain awards including Best British Soap and Best Leading Performer are voted for by the general public. History The first British Soap Awards took place in 1999 and was presented by Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, who presented the awards until 2001. Matthew Kelly presented the 2002 awards, before being replaced by Des O'Connor and Melanie Sykes in 2003. Paul O'Grady presented the awards between 2004 and 2005. Claire Elizabeth Cooper (born 26 October 1980) is a British actress and former gymnast from Wakefield, England, best known for portraying Jacqui McQueen in the Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks'', a character she played full time from 2006 to 2013 and returned to for one episode in 2023. ''Emmerdale'' (known as ''Emmerdale Farm'' until 1989) is a British television soap opera that is broadcast on ITV (TV network), ITV. ''Doctors'' is a British Medical drama, medical soap opera, first broadcast on BBC One on 26 March 2000 and concluded on 14 November 2024. Filmed in Birmingham and set in the fictional West Midlands (region), West Midlands town of Letherbridge, the soap follows the lives of the staff of both an NHS doctor's surgery and a university campus surgery, as well as the lives of their families and friends.
