2013 Atlanta Braves Season
The 2013 Atlanta Braves season was the Braves' 17th season of home games at Turner Field, 48th season in Atlanta, and 143rd season overall. The Atlanta Braves were the 2013 National League Eastern division champions with a record of 96–66. The Braves won their first game of the season (7–5) against the Philadelphia Phillies on April 1. They finished the season in first place in the National League East, but lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS. This was also the Braves first division title since the "Baby Braves" in 2005. National League East
The National League East is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. Along with the American League Central, it is one of two divisions to have every member win at least one World Series title. After having internal, informal divisions for scheduling purposes during the pre-expansion era, the division was formally created when the National League (baseball), National League (NL) (along with the American League) added two expansion teams and divided into two divisions, East and West effective for the 1969 season. The National League's geographical alignment was rather peculiar as its partitioning was really more north and south instead of east and west. The Atlanta Braves Radio Network is a 171-station network (66 A.M., 39 F.M. stations + 62 F.M. translators and 4 HD channels) with terrestrial coverage in 11 states Southeastern United States that airs Major League Baseball games of the Atlanta Braves. Justin Upton
Justin Irvin Upton (born August 25, 1987) is an American former professional baseball outfielder. Nicknamed "J-Up", he played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Angels, and Seattle Mariners. Martín Manuel Prado Torcate (born October 27, 1983) is a Venezuelan former professional baseball third baseman. Michael Ray Bourn (born December 27, 1982) is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) center fielder who played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Houston Astros, Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Baltimore Orioles between 2006 and 2016. Larry Wayne "Chipper" Jones Jr. (born April 24, 1972) is an American former professional baseball third baseman who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Atlanta Braves from 1993 to 2012. The 2013 Los Angeles Dodgers season was the 124th for the franchise in Major League Baseball, and their 56th season in Los Angeles. The Dodgers dealt with a series of injuries to key players during the first half of the season and on June 21 were 31–42, games back in last place in the National League West Division.
