2013 Asian Le Mans Series
The 2013 Asian Le Mans Series was the second season of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest's Asian Le Mans Series endurance auto racing championship. The series was initially launched in 2009 at the 1000 km of Okayama, but did not resume the following year. The project was reinitialized by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) in 2012, with the Chinese S2M Group serving as the series promoter and TS Motorsport serving as organizer. It is the fourth 24 Hours of Le Mans-based series created by the ACO, following the American Le Mans Series, European Le Mans Series, and FIA World Endurance Championship. The four event season began in Inje, South Korea on 4 August and ended in Selangor, Malaysia on 8 December 2013. One-Design
One-design racing is a racing method which may be adopted in sports using complex equipment, whereby all vehicles have identical or very similar designs or models, avoiding the need for a Handicapping, handicap system. Motorsport One-make racing series (also known as spec racing series) are racing series in which all competitors race with identical or very similar vehicles from the same manufacturer and suppliers. Typically, this means the same type of chassis, powertrain, tyres, brakes, and fuel are used by all drivers. Sepang International Circuit
Sepang International Circuit () (known as Petronas Sepang International Circuit for commercial reasons) is a motorsport race track in Sepang District, Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia. It is located approximately south of Kuala Lumpur, close to Kuala Lumpur International Airport. It hosted the Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix between 1999 and 2017, and is also the venue for the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, the Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race, and other major motorsport events. 1000 Km Fuji
The 6 Hours of Fuji (formerly the Fuji 1000 Kilometres) is a sports car racing, sports car race held at Fuji Speedway in Oyama, Shizuoka, Japan. The race was held for the first time in 1967, and in 1977 became part of the new Fuji Long Distance Series. In 1982 a second 1000 km race known as ''WEC in Japan'' was run as a round of the World Sportscar Championship. The All Japan Sports Prototype Championship was formed in 1983, and since then co-sanctioned this event. The World Championship left after 1988, but the JSPC carried on both races until 1992. The race was revived in 1999 as an attempt to gauge interest in an Asian Le Mans Series; the series never materialized. The race was revived again as a part of the short-lived Japan Le Mans Challenge in 2007. Fuji Speedway
is a motorsport race track standing in the foothills of Mount Fuji, in Oyama, Shizuoka, Oyama, Suntō District, Shizuoka, Suntō District, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It was built in the early 1960s. In the 1980s, Fuji Speedway was used for the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, FIA World Sportscar Championship and national racing. Originally managed by Mitsubishi Estate, Fuji Speedway was acquired by Toyota in 2000. Inje Speedium is a motor racing circuit in Inje County, South Korea, about east of Seoul. The circuit is part of a larger complex, named the Inje Auto Theme Park, that includes a hotel and condominiums. The main course is , but can be split into separate and circuits. History The track opened with a round of the Japanese Super Taikyu series on 25 May 2013, and held the opening round of the 2013 Asian Le Mans Series season on 4 August 2013. Ordos International Circuit (), built in 2010, is a motorsport facility located in Kangbashi New Area, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, China. It hosted a round of the China Touring Car Championship, Scirocco Cup China and Superleague Formula in 2010. The circuit is long with 18 corners and resembles a galloping horse. History Orodos International Circuit opened in 2010 and is the first track that was designed and developed entirely by the Chinese. Taking its inspiration from the local culture, the unusual track layout mimics the shape of a horse dashing, while its main grandstand features a roofline in the shape of a swooping eagle. While if either of these features leads to a better track layout or watching experience is debatable. But they leave you little doubt as to its location in inner Mongolia. The Shanghai International Circuit (), also called the SAIC Shanghai International Circuit () for sponsorship purposes, is a motorsport race track, situated in the Jiading District, Shanghai, China. Zhuhai International Circuit
Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC) () is located at Jin Ding town in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, China. Motorsport started in Zhuhai when it hosted a race on its Zhuhai Street Circuit, street circuit in 1993. Racing continued there until 1996 when the motor racing circuit was constructed and became China's first permanent motor race track with Formula One in mind. The circuit was designed by Australian company Kinhill Engineers Pty Ltd, the same group which created the Formula One circuit in Adelaide Street Circuit, Adelaide. The project manager for the project was Michael McDonough. The first international race held at the circuit was the BPR Global GT Series. The 2012 6 Hours of Shanghai was an endurance auto race held at the Shanghai International Circuit in Shanghai, China on 28 October 2012. The race was the eighth and season finale of the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship season, and was the inaugural running of the 6 Hours of Shanghai. The race was won by Alexander Wurz and Nicolas Lapierre driving the No.7 Toyota TS030 Hybrid of Toyota Racing. André Lotterer, Benoît Tréluyer and Marcel Fässler of Audi Sport Team Joest won the Drivers' World Championship at the event after finishing in third place.
