2012–13 UAE Pro League
The UAE Pro League (known as ''Etisalat Pro League'' for sponsorship reasons) is the premier league in United Arab Emirates. It will be the 38th top-level football season in the UAE, and the fifth Professional season. It will be contested by 14 teams due to an expansion in the league system. Al Ain are the defending champions, having won the previous 2011–12 Pro League season. On Thursday, 18 April 2013, Al Ain won their match against Dubai which guarantees them as winners of the 2012–13 Pro League. They will receive their trophy on their last match against Al Nasr on Saturday, 25 May 2013. The UAE Pro League ( ar, دوري المحترفين الإماراتي), known for sponsorship reasons as the ADNOC Pro League, is the top professional football league in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The first team to win the title was Al Orouba (Sharjah), whilst Al Ain has the record with 14 league titles to their name. Fourteen clubs compete in the League that operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the First Division League. The League was founded in 1973 as the UAE Football League. The first 1973–74 season was a "trial" championship but was declared official by the UAE FA in 2001. In February 2007, the Pro League Committee was formed, and became the organising body of the League. Cosmin Olăroiu
Cosmin Aurelian Olăroiu (born 10 June 1969) is a Romanian professional football manager and former footballer in charge of UAE Pro League Sharjah FC. As a manager, he guided Steaua Bucharest to the Romanian League title and Romanian Supercup both in 2006, and led his side to the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup in the same year. He is considered one of the greatest managers in the Arabian Peninsula, having led the most decorated clubs of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and United Arab Emirates – Al Hilal, Al Sadd, Al Ain and Al Ahli – to new trophies. Al-Jazira Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium ( ar, ستاد محمد بن زايد) is a multi-purpose stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Luis Milla Aspas (born 12 March 1966) is a Spanish former footballer who played as a defensive midfielder, currently manager of Indonesian club Persib Bandung. Al Jazira Club is an Emirati professional football club based in Abu Dhabi, that currently competes in the UAE Pro League. History Al-Jazira was established in 1974 as a merger between ''Khalidiyah'' and ''Al Bateen''. The club struggled to stay in the league, getting relegated on multiple occasions during the 1980s and 1990s, but experienced a recent success when Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan invested into the club in the 2000s. Laurent Banide (born 26 January 1968) is a French association football, football manager who coaches AS Monaco FC, Monaco's women's side.
