2012–13 Slovak Cup
The 2012–13 Slovak Cup, also known as Slovnaft Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 44th edition of the competition. 43 clubs participated in the tournament. The winners of the competition, ŠK Slovan Bratislava, as a 2013–14 Slovak First Football League champions qualified for the second qualifying round of the 2013–14 UEFA Champions League. The Slovak Cup runner-up team, MŠK Žilina, qualified for the first qualifying round of the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League. ŠK Slovan Bratislava
ŠK Slovan Bratislava (, "Bratislava Slav") is a football club based in Bratislava, Slovakia, that plays in the Slovak Super Liga. Founded as 1. ČsŠK Bratislava in 1919, the club changed its name to Slovan Bratislava in 1953. Slovan is the most successful team in Slovakia with the most titles in both league and cup in the country. Slovan Bratislava became the first and so far only club in Slovakia as well as former Czechoslovakia to win one of the European cup competitions, the Cup Winners' Cup when they defeated FC Barcelona in the final in Basel in 1969. FK Senica
FK Senica () is a Slovak football team, based in the town of Senica. The club was founded in 1921. History FK Senica was founded in 1921. Newly created partition was rapidly progressed, but the boom dampened dark period World War II. World war almost destroyed football in Senica. MFK Zemplín Michalovce () is a Slovak professional football team based in the town of Michalovce, that competes in the Fortuna Liga, the top tier in the Slovak football league system, from 2015–16. ŠTK 1914 Šamorín is a Slovak football team, based in the town of Šamorín. The club was founded in 1914. In the season 2009/2010, they were promoted to Slovak Third League. In season 2015/16 the club was promoted to the Slovak Second League. History The club was founded on 1 June 1914 (original name in hungarian Somorjai Testgyakorlók Köre). Their first stadium (in Pomlé, Šamorín) was opened in 1930. Their first game in the stadium, against FSV Vienna was a sweet 2–0 victory in front of 1,500 spectators. ŠTK proudly announced that there will be places for more kids to play (Mladsi, Starsi ziaci and Dorast). This has brought a big success, because according to the 2010 statistics, almost 400 kids play football there. Tatran Liptovský Mikuláš is a Slovak football club, playing in the town of Liptovský Mikuláš. History The club was formed on 22 June 1934, following the example of some Liptovský municipalities and the municipality of Okoličné. The meeting consisted of many football enthusiasts from the community and Ján Devečka who officially declared the establishment of the football club. The first elected chairman was JUDr. Sterllinger, who donated from his own private property the Pšaninách meadow (where today stands a dairy) on which to create a football field, which was the club's home until 1972. The club's first football match was a friendly game against neighbouring ŠK Smrečany, taking place on 15 July 1934, the result ended 8–0 for the home team.
