2012–13 QMJHL Season
The 2012–13 QMJHL season was the 44th season of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The regular season consisted of eighteen teams playing 68 games each, began on September 20, 2012, and ended on March 17, 2013. This was the Sherbrooke Phoenix's first season in the league. Quebec Major Junior Hockey League
The Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL; , LHJMQ), formerly the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League is one of the three major junior ice hockey leagues that constitute the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). The league includes teams in Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, and the The Maritimes, Maritime provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, and previously had teams in Maine and New York (state), New York in the United States. The Gilles-Courteau Trophy is the championship trophy of the league. The QMJHL champion then goes on to compete in the Memorial Cup against the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and Western Hockey League (WHL) champions, and the CHL host team. The QMJHL had traditionally adopted a rapid and offensive style of hockey. Shawinigan Cataractes
The Shawinigan Cataractes () are a Canadian junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) based in Shawinigan, Quebec. The franchise plays their home games at the Centre Gervais Auto, and were originally known as the Shawinigan Bruins until 1973, as well as the Shawinigan Dynamos from 1973 to 1978. Etymology "Cataractes" is the plural form of "cataracte", which means in English 'cataract' in the sense of a powerful waterfall, derived from the Latin word "cataracta" meaning 'waterfall' or 'portcullis'. The team is named after the Shawinigan Falls, a prominent waterfall in the city of Shawinigan. Zach O'Brien
Zachary O'Brien (born June 29, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger currently playing with the Cardiff Devils in the Elite Ice Hockey League. Prior to turning professional, O'Brien played three seasons with the Acadie–Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). During his time with the Titan, O'Brien won the Frank J. Selke Memorial Trophy as the league's most sportsmanlike player twice. Playing career Amateur O'Brien played Major Midget hockey with the St. John's Fog Devils of the Newfoundland and Labrador Major Midget Hockey League. In his final year, he recorded 176 points to help lead his team to the 2010 Telus Cup where he was then named the National Midget AAA Championship's MVP. Alexandre Lavoie
Alexandre Lavoie (born November 17, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing with HDD Olimpija Ljubljana of the ICE Hockey League. Playing career Lavoie started playing in Chicoutimi Saguenéens in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) from 2008 to 2011 followed by a season in the same league's Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and one more season in the league's Rimouski Oceanic. He then moved to play on the Allen Americans in the Central Hockey League (CHL) for two seasons including a loan assignment to American Hockey League club, the Oklahoma City Barons. Sven Andrighetto (born 21 March 1993) is a Swiss professional ice hockey winger for the ZSC Lions of the National League (NL). He was selected in the third-round, 86th overall, by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2013 NHL entry draft. Andrighetto has also previously played for the Colorado Avalanche. Peter Trainor (ice Hockey)
Peter Trainor (2 February 1915 – 14 October 1979) was an English professional footballer who made 71 Football League appearances for Brighton & Hove Albion playing at centre half or occasional centre forward. Life and career Trainor was born in Cockermouth, Cumberland, in 1915. He began his football career with Workington of the North Eastern League and joined Preston North End in 1937, but never played for their first team. He moved on to Brighton & Hove Albion of the Third Division South a few months later, and soon established himself in the team, but the outbreak of the Second World War and consequent abandonment of competitive football for the duration meant he was into his thirties before the resumption. Josh Currie (born October 29, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward for Kölner Haie of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Jonathan Drouin (born March 28, 1995) is a Canadian professional ice hockey Winger (ice hockey), left winger for the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL). Fenech-Soler were an English electropop band from King's Cliffe, Northamptonshire, England, that formed in 2006 and consists of two members: Ross Duffy and Ben Duffy. Gatineau Olympiques
The Gatineau Olympiques are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Gatineau, Quebec, that plays in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Val-d'Or Foreurs
The are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Val-d'Or, in the region of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. They play in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League, one of the three component leagues of the Canadian Hockey League. The team name, Val-d'Or Foreurs, translates to the "Valley of Gold Drillers"; this name references the drilling operations associated with mining and exploration which are a major source of blue-collar work in the area.
