The 2012–13 season was Lille OSC's 69th season in existence and the club's 13th consecutive season in the top flight of French football. This season marked the opening of the Grand Stade Lille Métropole, with a 50,000-seat capacity that went on to host several matches of UEFA Euro 2016. Lille Olympique Sporting Club (), commonly referred to as LOSC, LOSC Lille or simply Lille, is a French professional football club based in Lille, Hauts-de-France that competes in Ligue 1, the top flight of French football. Lille has played its home matches since 2012 at Stade Pierre-Mauroy, the fourth-largest football stadium in France. The 50,186-capacity retractable roof venue replaced the club's previous home of Stadium Lille-Metropole. Lille was founded as a result of a merger between Olympique Lillois and SC Fives in 1944. The 2013–14 season was Lille OSC's seventieth season in existence and the club's fourteenth consecutive season in the top flight of French football. For the first time since the 2008–09 season, the club failed to qualify for any European competition and therefore only participated in domestic competitions (Ligue 1, Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue). For the season, Lille announced René Girard as the replacement to departing manager Rudi Garcia, who joined Italian side Roma. Djibril Sidibé (born 29 July 1992) is a French professional footballer who plays as a defender for Greek Super League club AEK Athens. Florent Balmont (born 2 February 1980) is a French former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Balmont began his career at Olympique Lyonnais in the 2002–03 Ligue 1 season after coming through the junior ranks.
