2012–13 Hamilton Academical F.C. Season
The 2012–13 season was Hamilton Academical's second consecutive season in the Scottish First Division, having been relegated from the Scottish Premier League at the end of the 2010–11 season. Hamilton also competed in the Challenge Cup, League Cup and the Scottish Cup. Summary Season During season 2012–13 Hamilton finished fifth in the Scottish First Division. They reached the first round of the Challenge Cup, the third round of the League Cup and the quarter-final of the Scottish Cup. Management Hamilton began the season under the management of Billy Reid. On 3 April 2013, Reid left the club by mutual consent after nearly eight years in charge of the team. Club captain Alex Neil and Hamilton's Academy director Frankie McAvoy took charge of the team until the end of the season on an interim basis. Scottish Premier League
The Scottish Premier League (SPL) was the Scottish football league system, top-level league competition for professional Association football, football clubs in Scotland. The league was founded in 1998, when it broke away from the Scottish Football League (SFL). It was abolished in 2013, when the SPL and SFL merged to form the new Scottish Professional Football League, with its top division being known as the Scottish Premiership. Motherwell F
Motherwell (, ) is a town and former burgh in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, south east of Glasgow. It has a population of around 32,120. Historically in the parish of Dalziel and part of Lanarkshire, Motherwell is the headquarters for North Lanarkshire Council. Geographically the River Clyde separates Motherwell from Hamilton to the west whereas the South Calder Water separates Motherwell from Carfin to the north-east and New Stevenston and Bellshill towards the north. Stephen Hendrie
Stephen Hendrie (born 8 January 1995) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a left back for club Hamilton Academical. He began his career with Hamilton Academical, making over 100 appearances for the club before moving to West Ham United in July 2015. He moved on loan to Southend United in January 2016. After a loan spell with Blackburn Rovers during the 2016–17 season, Hendrie returned to the ''Shrimpers'' on a permanent basis in June 2017. Andy Ryan (born 29 September 1994) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a striker for Larne in the Irish Premiership. Ryan began his career with Hamilton Academical, before moving on to Forfar Athletic and subsequently playing with Airdrieonians, Dunfermline Athletic, and Stirling Albion. Frankie McAvoy
Frankie McAvoy (born 9 July 1967) is a Scottish professional football coach. He is currently first-team coach at Carlisle United. McAvoy was previously the head coach at club Preston North End. Playing career McAvoy did not play football at a professional level, instead playing junior football locally for Bellshill Athletic, Thorniewood United, Wishaw, Bellshill YM and Blantyre Victoria.
