2012–13 CCHL Season
The 2012–13 CCHL Season (sports), season was the 52nd season of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL). The twelve teams of the CCHL played 62-game schedules. Come March, the top teams of the league played down for the Bogart Cup, the CCHL championship. The winner of the Bogart Cup competed in the Eastern Canadian Junior "A" championship, the Fred Page Cup. If successful against the winners of the Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League and Maritime Hockey League, the champion would then move on to play in the Canadian Junior Hockey League championship, the 2013 Royal Bank Cup. Central Canada Hockey League
The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL; French: ''Ligue de hockey du Canada centrale'', LHCC) is a Junior A ice hockey league in North America composed of 12 teams – all around the National Capital Region. The CCHL is one of the nine Junior A leagues across Canada and is considered as the most successful and highest level of Junior A hockey compared to all the other eight leagues across the country. The Bogart Cup, the oldest junior ice hockey sports trophy in Canada, is awarded annually to the league playoff champion at the end of each season. The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) views the Bogart Cup as one of the "most important championships available to the sport". The CCHL is headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario. Hawkesbury Hawks
The Hawkesbury Hawks are a Junior A ice hockey team based in Hawkesbury, Ontario. The Hawks compete in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) as a member of the East Division. The team plays its home games at Robert Hartley Sports Complex. The Hawks joined the league in 1974 as an expansion team along with the Navan Grads. The team has advanced to the Bogart Cup Finals three times, winning six times; the last time being in the 2004–05 season. They have won the Fred Page Cup once in franchise history, in 2005, after they won their last Bogart Cup. The Hawks have a rivalry with the Rockland Nationals, also known as the ''Battle of Highway 17'', in result of both arenas located alongside Highway 17, which starts after Trim Road in Orleans, all the way to East Hawkesbury. Gloucester Rangers
The Rockland Nationals (French: ''National de Rockland''), colloquially known as the Nats, are a Junior A ice hockey team based in Rockland, Ontario. The Nationals compete in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) as a member of the East Division. Since 2017, the team has played its home games at Clarence-Rockland Arena, originally known as CIH Arena. Founded in 1968 as the Ottawa M&W Rangers, they are one of the oldest continuously operating junior ice hockey team worldwide. The current Rockland Nationals began play in 2017–18, after the Gloucester Rangers relocated to Rockland after nearly 50 years in Gloucester, Ontario, Gloucester. Kanata Stallions
The Kanata Lasers were a Junior ice hockey in the Central Canada Hockey League team based in Kanata, Ontario. Following the sale of the franchise in 2020, it relocated to Renfrew, Ontario and was rebranded as the Renfrew Wolves. Team history The Kanata Valley Lasers began play in the Central Junior Hockey League in 1987-88 when an expansion franchise was granted to Kanata, Ontario, which was then a separate suburb of Ottawa. During their first 15 years as the Valley Lasers, the team never missed the playoffs, had the same head coach, Archie Mulligan, won 2 Art Bogart Cup championships in 1992 and 1997 won the Fred Page Cup in 1997. In May 2002, the Kanata Sports Club sold the Kanata Valley Lasers to Dynasty Flooring Inc. The new ownership refurbished the team, renamed them the Kanata Stallions, and moved from the Jack Charron Arena to the Kanata Recreation Centre. Pembroke, Ontario
Pembroke ( ) is a city in the Canadian province of Ontario at the confluence of the Muskrat River (Ontario), Muskrat River and the Ottawa River in the Ottawa Valley, northwest of Ottawa. Though containing the administrative headquarters of Renfrew County, it is an independent city. History The first European settler to the area now known as Pembroke was Daniel Fraser in 1823, who squatted on land that was discovered to have been granted to a man named Abel Ward. Pembroke Lumber Kings
The Pembroke Lumber Kings (colloquially referred to as the Kings) are a Junior A ice hockey team based in Pembroke, Ontario. The Lumber Kings compete in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) as a member of the West Division. The franchise is one of the ''Original Five'' teams of the league. Founded in 1964, the team folded in 1979, but came back in 1980. Since 1964, they play their home games at Pembroke Memorial Centre. The Lumber Kings have won the most Bogart Cup championships of any CCHL franchise since its existence (14). Nepean, Ontario
Nepean ( ) is an area of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Located west of Ottawa's inner core, it was an independent city until amalgamated with the Regional Municipality of Ottawa–Carleton in 2001 to become the new city of Ottawa. However, the name Nepean continues in common usage in reference to the area. The population of Nepean is about 186,593 people (2021 Census). Nepean Raiders
The Nepean Raiders (French: Raiders de Nepean) are a Junior A ice hockey team based in Ottawa, Ontario. The Raiders compete in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) as a member of the East Division. The team plays its home games at the Nepean Sportsplex. The franchise was formed in 1966 in the Central Junior A Hockey League. The Raiders saw success immediately, winning the Bogart Cup in 1971, and have made the finals multiple times between 1972 and 1981. In the 1980s.
