2012–13 BeNe League
The 2012–13 season of the Women's BeNe League was the first season of the Belgium and the Netherlands' women's football top level league. Since this was the first season, the league had no reigning champion, although both countries had reigning champions from their former top leagues—Standard Liège in Belgium and ADO Den Haag in the Netherlands. The season started on 24 August 2012. The championship was won by FC Twente. Format The season began with a national phase, involving eight teams in each nation. The teams then played a double round-robin, resulting in 14 matches per team. The best four teams from each nation then qualified for the BeNe League A. The other teams joined the BeNe League B. The best team of each country in League A qualified for the 2013–14 UEFA Women's Champions League. Teams Teams were required to apply for league places. BeNe League
The BeNe League was the highest women's football league in Belgium and the Netherlands. To increase competitiveness in their national leagues, the BeNe League was a joint cooperation between the Royal Belgian Football Association and the Royal Dutch Football Association. Its first season was played in 2012–13 following the successful cooperation with the one match BeNe Super Cup, that paired both countries' national champions. The competition qualified the highest-placed Belgian and Dutch teams to the UEFA Women's Champions League. After three seasons the league was discontinued and both nations returned to their own top-level leagues. History First talks of the league began in 2011. RSC Anderlecht (women)
RSC Anderlecht Féminin is a Belgian women's football team, currently playing at the Super League Vrouwenvoetbal. It formerly played the Belgian First Division and the BeNe League, that was folded in 2015. The team was founded in 1971 as Brussels Dames 71. The team won one Belgian championship and four national cups as Brussels D71 between 1984 and 1991, and three championships and five cups as Anderlecht between 1994 and 2005, including doubles in 1987 and 1998, with the 1994-1999 lustrum being its most successful period. With ten titles Anderlecht is the Cup's most successful team. Since 2004 it has been the championship's runner-up in five occasions, most recently in 2011. Beerschot AC (women)
Kontich FC is a Belgian women's football club from Kontich. The club colours are red and yellow. Starting in 2010 the club was a joined venture of Kontich FC and Germinal Beerschot. The next year renamed to Beerschot AD, the following year, in 2013 the club was moved to Antwerp as the new ladies department of R. Antwerp FC. As from 2014 the club was moved back again to Kontich as K. Kontich FC. After playing in the Belgian Women's First National Division (level 2) between 2016 and 2023, the club voluntarily demoted to Interprovincial B (level 3), despite being champion in their last season. Heverlee () is a sub-municipality of the city of Leuven located in the province of Flemish Brabant, Flemish Region, Belgium. It was a separate municipality until 1977. Club YLA is Club Brugge's women's section. It was founded in 2000 as the women's division of KSV Jabbeke. In 2010 they started working together with Club Brugge as it was needed to cooperate with a male club in the highest division to become part of the Elite League for women. : History In 2012 they changed their name into Club Brugge Dames.
