2012 Telkom Knockout
The 2012 Telkom Knockout is a football (soccer) knockout competition which comprised the 16 teams in the South African Premier Soccer League. It was the 21st tournament, and the 7th under the Telkom Knockout name. The tournament is effectively South Africa's league cup, as entry is open only to clubs in the top league. The cup is usually played in the first half of the season. The tournament began on 17 October and ended on 1 December 2012. In all matches there has to be a winner on the day, this will be decided if there is a winner after full-time (90 minutes). If teams are tied at full-time then extra time will be played, penalties will decide the winner if the scores are still even (there is no golden goal rule). Faty Papy (18 September 1990 – 25 April 2019) was a Burundian professional association football player who last played for Malanti Chiefs in the Premier League of Eswatini. He also played with the Burundi national football team. Career Papy signed on 25 December 2008 for Trabzonspor, coming from AS Inter Star a football club based in Bujumbura. Matty Pattison (born 27 October 1986) is a South African former footballer and current head of youth development at Whickham. Early life Pattison, who was born in Johannesburg, began to play football at an early age. He and his family then moved to England in 1997, when he was eleven years old. He joined Newcastle Youth Academy at the age of fourteen. Club career Newcastle United He got his first taste of senior football in a pre-season friendly match against Celtic in August 2004. Orlando Pirates Football Club (often known as "The Buccaneers") is a South African professional football club based in the Houghton suburb of the city of Johannesburg and plays in the top-tier system of Football in South Africa known as DStv Premiership. The South African rand, or simply the rand, (sign: R; code: ZAR) is the official currency of the Southern African Common Monetary Area: South Africa, Namibia (alongside the Namibian dollar), Lesotho (alongside the Lesotho loti) and Eswatini (alongside the Swazi lilangeni).
