2012 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup
The 2012 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup is the 21st edition of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup. It was held from 24 May to 3 June 2012 in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. New Zealand won their first ever title by defeating Argentina with 1–0 in the final, while five-time champions India took the bronze medal by defeating Great Britain scoring 3–1. Robert Moore (field Hockey)
Robert Stephen Moore (born 21 May 1981) is an English former field hockey player. He appeared at three Olympic Games in 2004, 2008 and 2012. Biography Moore was born in Winchester, England and was educated at King Edward VI, Southampton before studying economics at University of Nottingham. Throughout his academic career Moore was involved with all sports, showing a particular talent for hockey and cricket. At the age of 16 whilst playing a hockey match for his school, the coach for the opposing team, who happened to also be the under 21s coach for England, spotted the young player's natural ability and invited him to an England under 21s trial. Moore made the England under 21s team the summer of the trials in 1998, and that August was selected for his first tournament; the Under 21s European Cup in Poznan, Poland where the team also managed to pick up a silver medal. Glenn Charles W. Kirkham (born 8 October 1982) is an English field hockey player who played for the English and British national team. He competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics. Biography Kirkham born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England, was educated at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School, Alford and played hockey for Long Sutton before studying Sports Science at Loughborough University. Arun Peter Panchia (born 22 April 1989) is a former New Zealand field hockey player. He earned his first cap for the New Zealand men's national field hockey team in 2009 against Pakistan and retired from international hockey in 2020. Richard Petherick (born 4 April 1986) is a field hockey player from New Zealand. While at Hamilton Boys' High School Petherick played for regional and national representative teams. He earned his first cap for the national men's team, nicknamed ''The Black Sticks'', in 2005 against Malaysia. Lucas Martín Vila (born 23 August 1986) is an Argentine former field hockey player who played as a forward.
