2012 PSA World Tour
The PSA World Tour 2012 is the international squash tour organised circuit organized by the Professional Squash Association (PSA) for the 2012 squash season. The most important tournament in the series is the World Championship held in Doha in Qatar. The tour features three categories of regular events, World Series, which feature the highest prize money and the best fields, International and Challenger. Professional Squash Association
The Professional Squash Association, or simply the PSA, is the governing body for the men's and women's professional Squash (sport), squash circuit. The body operates in a similar fashion to the Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP and the Women's Tennis Association, WTA for tennis. The PSA's highest professional level, the PSA Squash Tour involves over 250 tournaments annually around the world. Karim Darwish (squash)
Karim Darwish (; born 29 August 1981) is an Egyptian squash player. Career overview As a junior player, he won the World Junior Championship title in 2000, and the British Junior Open title in 1999. Earlier in 2008, Darwish finished runner-up at the World Open, losing in the final to fellow Egyptian player Ramy Ashour (11–5, 8–11, 4–11, 5–11). Darwish displaced Amr Shabana to claim the world number 1 position after winning the prestigious 2008 Saudi International and 3 major titles (including the Qatar Classic) in 2008. The Men's J. P. Morgan Tournament of Champions 2012 is the men's edition of the 2012 Tournament of Champions, which is a PSA World Series event Gold (prize money: $115,000). The event took place at the Grand Central Terminal in New York City in the United States from 20 January to 26 January. PSA World Series
The PSA World Series (formerly known as the PSA Super Series) was a series of men's and women's squash tournaments which were part of the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour for the squash season. The tournaments were some of the most prestigious events on the men's tour. The best-performing players in the World Series events qualified for the annual PSA World Series Finals tournament. Each year, several tournaments on the tour were designated World Series events. These included major events such as the World Championship, the British Open, the Hong Kong Open or the Tournament of Champions. Then, early the next year, the eight best-performing players from the Super Series events were invited to compete in the PSA World Series Finals (a similar event to the ATP World Tour Finals). Saurav Ghosal (; born 10 August 1986) is an Indian squash (sport), squash player. He reached a career-high ranking of World No. 10 in April 2019. He won the first ever squash medal for India, a bronze in the singles and mixed doubles at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Commonwealth Games.
