2012 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series
The 2012 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series season was the sixth season of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series taking place in the summer of 2012. The season composed of twelve races at eleven different venues. Seven of those events were contested on oval courses. Summary The sixth season consisted of 12 events spanning across 5 provinces featuring 12 events. New this season were the standardised rule changes for NASCAR's regional series matching that of the national series (green-white-checker finish and points system). All of the races were aired on The Sports Network, TSN in one-hour tape-delayed episodes, excluding Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and Trois-Rivières being aired live on the network. NASCAR Canadian Tire Series
The NASCAR Canada Series (NCS, ) is a national NASCAR racing series in Canada, and is a continuation of the old CASCAR Super Series which was founded in 1981. It is the top NASCAR touring series in Canada. History In September 2006 NASCAR purchased the CASCAR Super Series, the top Canadian stock-car racing series at the time. At the same time, they established a sponsorship agreement with Canadian Tire as the title sponsor. They also signed a television contract with The Sports Network, TSN to carry all events with select races being aired live. Three of the series races, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal, had crowds in excess of 50,000 fans. Kerry Micks
Kerry Micks (born January 10, 1961) is a Canadian race car driver in the NASCAR Pinty's Series. CASCAR Super Series Kerry and his wife Susan formed Micks Motorsports in 1992 to compete in the CASCAR Super Series. From 1990 to 2006 he drove in CASCAR, where is the all-time leader in starts with 165 and second in wins with 24 in the series. Micks won his first and only CASCAR Super Series Championship in 1993. Micks was the first Canadian driver to race a Ford when Ford of Canada came on board for the CASCAR Super Series in 1995. Derek White (racing Driver)
Derek White (born December 9, 1970) is a Canadian professional stock car racing driver. He competes part-time in the NASCAR NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 2 Ford F-150 for Reaume Brothers Racing, and the No. 69 Ford F-150 for MBM Motorsports, and part-time in the ARCA Menards Series, driving the No. 31 Toyota for Rise Motorsports. Jean-François Dumoulin (born May 5, 1976) is a Canadian racing driver. He competes in the Tudor United SportsCar Championship for Magnus Racing, as well as the NASCAR Canada Series.
