The 2012 Michigan State Spartans football team represented Michigan State University in the Legends Division of the Big Ten Conference during the 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Michigan State played their home games at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Michigan and were led by sixth-year head coach Mark Dantonio. Mark Dantonio
Mark Justin Dantonio (born March 9, 1956) is an American college football coach and former player. His most recent head coaching position was at Michigan State University, a position he had held from 2007 to 2019. He led the Michigan State Spartans football, Michigan State Spartans to three Big Ten Conference championships, and eight victories over archrival Michigan Wolverines football, Michigan in 13 years. Kirk Daniel Cousins (born August 19, 1988) is an American professional American football, football quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and typically line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and so back up the defensive linemen. Riley Bullough
Riley Bullough (born November 23, 1993) is a former American football linebacker. He played college football at Michigan State, and was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2017. College career Bullough played four seasons for the Spartans, appearing in 50 games. Keith Nichol
Keith Nichol (born December 24, 1988) is a former wide receiver and quarterback. He played college football for the University of Oklahoma and Michigan State University. High school career Nichol attended Lowell High School in Lowell, Michigan. After a good freshman season, Nichol was promoted to the varsity team for the playoffs and saw some playing time as a cornerback in a blowout. Nichol had a breakout season as a sophomore. He threw for 2,125 yards and 26 touchdowns in Lowell's veer offense and led the team to a state championship. Trenton Robinson (born February 16, 1990) is an American former professional football player who was a safety in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Michigan State Spartans and was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL draft.
