TV4 (Sweden)
TV4 (''TV fyra'') is a Sweden, Swedish free-to-air Television in Sweden, television network owned by TV4 AB, a subsidiary of the TV4 Media, TV4 Media AB. It started broadcasting by satellite in 1990 and, since 1992, on terrestrial television. In 1994, TV4 became the largest channel and remained so for a number of years. The two channels of Sveriges Television (SVT) lost more and more viewers for a couple of years. After making schedule changes in 2001, SVT1 had practically the same numbers of viewers as TV4. From 2004 to 2019, the TV4 Group was a fully active member of the European Broadcasting Union. History In the spring of 1984, Ingemar Leijonborg and Gunnar Bergvall worked out a business plan for a Swedish commercial TV channel. The plan included a financing calculation for such a channel. TV4 Science Fiction
TV4 Science Fiction was a television channel dedicated to the science fiction genre owned by the TV4 Group. When the channel was announced, TV4 said that it would launch simultaneously in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Norway, becoming the first TV4 channel to launch in all four countries. The channel was launched in Sweden on 29 February 2008 and in Finland the next day. It did however not launch in Denmark and Norway. In Sweden, the channel was carried from the launch by IPTV distributor Telia Digital-tv and the satellite distributors Viasat and Canal Digital. In Finland, the channel was known as MTV3 Scifi and was a part of the MTV3 channel package. TV4 has entered an agreement with the Norwegian TV 2 Group to launch the channel in Norway under the name TV 2 Science Fiction in 2009. TNT (Swedish TV Channel)
TNT was a commercial television channel in Sweden. The channel was launched by the tabloid newspaper Aftonbladet as Aftonbladet TV7 on 9 October 2006. Aftonbladet sold the channel in late 2007. In August 2008, it was sold once again and is since owned by NonStop Television. On 2 March 2011 the channel was relaunched as TNT7, following Turner Broadcasting System's purchase of Millennium Media Group, the owner of NonStop Television. The channel is now called TNT since the seven was dropped from the name on 21 March 2012. In October 2018, Turner announced that TNT Nordic would be shut down as a television channel and would be turned into a subscription video on demand (SVOD) platform. SVT Barn
SVT Barn, formerly Barnkanalen and SVT B, is a Swedish free-to-air television channel from state broadcaster Sveriges Television dedicated to children's television programming. ''Barn'' is Swedish for ''children'', whereas ''Barnkanalen'' meant ''The Children's Channel''. (No relation to the British '' The Children's Channel''.) In the first semester of 2023 alone, SVT Barn had a daily reach of viewers exceeding 100 times the volume that Disney Channel has in Sweden. MTV Aitio is a Scandinavian premium television channel owned by MTV Oy showing movies and TV shows. It is the flagship movie channel of the MTV Katsomo+ package. History The channel started out as ''Canal+ Film 1'' on 1 May 2004 and replaced the channel Canal+ Gul. From September 2005 the channel was known as ''Canal+ Film'', but the numeral was added again in November 2006. TV4 Hits (branded as Hits in Norway) is a Scandinavian premium television channel showing movies and TV shows. The channel shows big blockbusters, independent movies, classic movies, movies from the whole world and erotic movies. The channel was launched as ''Canal+ Film 2'' on 1 May 2004. On 1 November 2007 it changed its name to ''Canal+ Hits'' as part of a larger reorganization of the Canal+ channels. In the Swedish feed, it timeshares with Canal+ Sport 2 which broadcasts a few games in the weekend. In the Norwegian and Finnish network the channel is however broadcast in full. The channel changed name to C More Hits on 4 September 2012 as of big rebranding. C More was discontinued on 14 August 2023, in favor of TV4 Play in Sweden. Consequently, the channel was rebranded as TV4 Hits and simply as Hits in Norway. C More Tennis was a Scandinavian premium sports channel which replaced Canal+ Sport 2 on September 4, 2012, and became a sports channel with only tennis from ATP Tour, WTA Tour and Davis Cup. The channel also had the rights to the Grand Slam tournament Wimbledon. The channel was available: In Sweden through the C More packets: C More Max, C More Sports and C More Family. In Norway, through the C More packets: C More Total and C More Sports. In Finland through the package: MTV3 Total. V Series is a Swedish television channel broadcasting TV series. The channel launched on 16 February 2009 as TV1000 Drama. The same day, all TV1000 channels in the Nordic countries got new logos and graphics.
