The 2012 Hong Kong–Shanghai Inter Club Championship was held on 1 November and 10 November 2012. The first leg will be played at Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground, Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong, with the second leg taken place at Yuanshen Sports Centre Stadium, Shanghai. Current defending champions of Hong Kong First Division League Kitchee SC, Kitchee was selected to represent Hong Kong while Chinese League One champions Shanghai Tellace F.C., Shanghai Tellace represents Shanghai. Kitchee SC, Kitchee suffered a 4–0 defeat at home and they failed to make a win in Shanghai as they lost 2–3. Dani Cancela
Daniel "Dani" Cancela Rodríguez (; born 23 September 1981) is a former professional footballer who played as a left-back. Born in Spain, he spent most of his career with Kitchee in Hong Kong after signing in 2010, eventually going on to represent the Hong Kong national team. Jordi Tarrés Páramo (alternately Jorge Tarrés Páramo, ; born 16 March 1981) is a former professional footballer who played as a forward. He is currently the technical director of Hong Kong Premier League club Kitchee's academy. Lo Kwan Yee (, born 9 October 1984) is a former Hong Kong professional footballer who played as a midfielder or a right back and a current football coach.
