2012 Hong Kong Cricket Sixes
The 2012 Hong Kong Cricket Sixes was the eighteenth edition of the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes, took place at Kowloon Cricket Club, Hong Kong. Eight teams competing in the tournament which lasted over two days from 27 to 28 October 2012. The tournament also featured China cricket team playing an exhibition match with a Hong Kong development team. The previous tournament was won by Pakistan who defeated England in the final. Squads Standing and Prize Money Rules and regulations All standard laws of the game as laid down by the MCC applied with the following significant differences: General Games are played between two teams of six players, and consist of five overs of six balls, with the exception of the final which consists of five overs of eight balls. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the global Sports governing body, governing body of cricket. Josh Cobb (cricketer)
Joshua James Cobb (born 17 August 1990) is an English former cricket player and now coach. He was a top order batsmen and occasional off-spinner. He was man of the match in the 2011 and 2016 Twenty20 finals. Career Cobb scored a double century for the England Under 19s. He attended Oakham School as a child, where he was a key member of the first team, averaging over 50 with the bat in his final season. Cobb made his first team debut in 2007, aged just 17, but gained a regular place in 2008 when he scored 148 not out against Middlesex County Cricket Club at Lord's Cricket Ground, an innings which made him Leicestershire's youngest ever centurion. Aizaz Khan
Aizaz Mohammad Khan (born 21 March 1993) is a Hong Kong international cricketer. He debuted for the Hong Kong national side in 2009, and has since played regularly for the team. He is a graduate of Islamic Kasim Tuet Memorial College. Early career Having played age-group cricket for Hong Kong Under-19s in the 2010 Under-19 World Cup, Aizaz made his World Cricket League debut for Hong Kong in the 2011 World Cricket League Division Three, where he helped Hong Kong earn promotion to that year's WCL Division Two. It was in this tournament that he made his List A debut, against Uganda. He played four further List A matches in the competition, the last coming against Namibia. Nizakat Khan
Nizakat Khan (born 8 July 1992) is a Pakistani-born Hong Kong cricketer. An all-rounder, Khan is a right-handed batsman who bowls leg break. In August 2021, he was named the captain of the Hong Kong cricket team. Biography Having played age-group cricket for Hong Kong Under-19s in the 2010 Under-19 World Cup, Khan proceeded to make his World Cricket League debut for Hong Kong in the 2011 World Cricket League Division Three, where he helped Hong Kong earn promotion to 2011 World Cricket League Division Two. Babar Hayat
Babar Hayat (born 5 January 1992) is a Pakistani-born Hong Kong cricketer, who plays for the Hong Kong cricket team. He is a right-handed batsman and a former captain of the national team. International career Babar made his T20I cricket completion debut against Nepal on 16 March 2014. In his debut match he made only 20 runs from 25 balls. He made his One Day International debut against Afghanistan in the 2014 ACC Premier League on 1 May 2014. In the 2016 Asia Cup Qualifier in February 2016, he became the first Hong Kong player to score a century in a T20I match. Munir Dar (cricketer)
Munir Ahmed Dar (born 12 April 1974) also known as Moner Ahmed is a Pakistani cricketer who has represented the Hong Kong national team internationally. He notably scored 36 runs off 27 balls as Hong Kong beat Bangladesh (a Test-playing nation) during the 2014 ICC World Twenty20. Career Dar played two List A matches for Gujranwala in the 1999 Tissot Cup without appearing again at that level. He moved to Hong Kong in 2000 to visit his brother and started playing in the amateur leagues there. Qualifying through residency, he later appeared for the Hong Kong national cricket team, starting with the 2005 edition of the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes. Irfan Ahmed
Irfan Ahmed (born 20 November 1989) is a Pakistani-born international cricketer who has played six One Day Internationals for Hong Kong. Playing as an all-rounder, he made his debut against Pakistan on 24 June 2008. Career In January 2016, Ahmed was provisionally suspended by the International Cricket Council after a breach of their Anti-Corruption Code. In April the same year, the ICC suspended him for two years and six months, following his admission to the charge. In October 2018, he was charged with a further nine offences under the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. In August 2019, the ICC banned him for life from all forms of cricket. Tanwir Afzal (born 12 June 1988) is a Hong Kong cricketer. He played for Hong Kong national cricket team, Hong Kong in the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 tournament. He made his One Day International debut against Afghanistan national cricket team, Afghanistan in the 2014 ACC Premier League on 1 May 2014. James Atkinson (cricketer)
James John Atkinson (born August 1990) is an international cricketer who plays cricket for Hong Kong. He also captained the Hong Kong cricket team before stepping down in May 2015. A wicket-keeper, Atkinson has also represented Hong Kong at the under-19 level, and was part of their squad in the 2010 U-19 Cricket World Cup. He was the first player (either male or female) born in the 1990s to play in ODI cricket as he made his debut at the age of 17 in 2008 against Pakistan during the 2008 Asia Cup. Ross Whiteley
Ross Andrew Whiteley (born 13 September 1988) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Derbyshire. Biography Whiteley was born in Sheffield. He is a left-handed batsman. He played with the Derbyshire Second XI from the 2006 season, in the Second XI Championship and Trophy. His brother Adam, two years his senior, also played for Derbyshire's Second XI between 2003 and 2007. Thomas Christopher Smith (born 26 December 1985) is a former English cricketer who played for Lancashire County Cricket Club. He had also been a member of the England Academy team. In 2008, he played for Leicestershire on loan because he was unable to break into Lancashire's first team. He is an all-rounder, bowling right-arm medium and batting left-handed. Chris Nash
Christopher David Nash (born 19 May 1983) is a retired English cricketer who represented Sussex and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club in an 18-year professional career. He also played first-class cricket for Loughborough UCCE in 2003 and 2004 having made his first-class debut for Sussex in 2002, against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
