2012 Finlandia Trophy
The 2012 Finlandia Trophy was an international figure skating competition in the 2012–13 season. The 17th edition of the annual event was held on October 5–7, 2012 at the Barona Arena in Espoo. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, ice dancing, and synchronized skating on the senior level. Competitors The initial entries were: Overview Spain's Javier Fernández won the men's short program ahead of Japan's Yuzuru Hanyu and the United States' Richard Dornbush. Hanyu placed first in the free program and won the title while Dornbush moved up to take the silver and Fernandez slipped to third. Johnny Weir made his return to competition at Finlandia Trophy after a two-season absence. In the ladies' event, Finland's Kiira Korpi was first in the short program, followed by Russia's Yulia Lipnitskaya and the United States' Mirai Nagasu. 2012–13 Figure Skating Season
The 2012–13 figure skating season began on July 1, 2012, and ended on June 30, 2013. During this season, elite skaters from men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance competed on the International Skating Union (ISU) Championship level at the 2013 European, Four Continents, World Junior, and World Championships. They also competed in elite events such as the Grand Prix series and Junior Grand Prix series, culminating in the Grand Prix Final. Juulia Turkkila
Juulia Turkkila (; born 3 November 1994) is a Finnish figure skater. Competing in ice dancing with Matthias Versluis, she is the 2022 Grand Prix of Espoo bronze medalist and a two-time Finnish national champion. As a single skater, she is the 2012 Nordic champion and 2014 Finnish national champion. Beata Leppilampi (née Papp (born 22 April 1995) is a Finnish former competitive figure skater. She placed 15th at the 2010 World Junior Championships and won two medals at the Finnish Championships. Personal life Beata Papp was born on 22 April 1995 in Kuopio, Finland and moved to Canada in the summer of 2007. Alisa Mikonsaari (born 19 June 1993) is a Finnish figure skater. She is the 2013 Finnish national bronze medalist and 2011 Finlandia Trophy bronze medalist. Competitive Career Mikonsaari replaced the injured Kiira Korpi in the Finnish team to the 2012 World Championships two weeks prior to the event, where she. Kiira Linda Katriina Korpi (; born 26 September 1988) is a Finnish figure skater. She is a three-time European medalist (bronze in 2007 and 2011, silver in 2012), the 2010 Trophée Eric Bompard champion, the 2012 Rostelecom Cup champion, a two-time Cup of China medalist, and a five-time Finnish national champion (2009, 2011–2013, 2015). He is a three-time Nordic medalist (gold in 2022, silver in 2016, bronze in 2014) and a six-time Finnish national champion (2013, 2015–2018, 2022).
