2012 Arizona Rattlers Season
The Arizona Rattlers season was the 21st season for the franchise in the Arena Football League. The team was coached by Kevin Guy and played their home games at US Airways Center. After winning their third consecutive division championship with a 13–5 record, the Rattlers were able to advance to ArenaBowl XXV, where they defeated the Philadelphia Soul 72–54 to win their third league championship in franchise history. Final roster Standings Schedule Regular season The Rattlers began the season on the road against the San Jose SaberCats on March 10. Their first home game was on March 17 when they played the Milwaukee Mustangs. They hosted the Kansas City Command in their final regular season game on July 21. Kevin Guy
Kevin Guy (born December 6, 1972) is an arena football coach and former wide receiver and defensive back who is the head coach for the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League (IFL). He played his college football at the University of West Alabama, and was an AFL wide receiver and defensive back from 1996 to 1999. He has been a football coach since 2000, and first served as a head coach in 2000 as the interim head coach for the New Jersey Red Dogs. After being the defensive coordinator for the San Jose SaberCats from 2006 to 2007, he became the Rattlers head coach in 2008. In 2018, his wife Cathy became co-owner of a new Tucson-based IFL franchise, called the Tucson Sugar Skulls, set to play in 2019. Chris Gould
Chris Gould (born December 10, 1985) is a former American football placekicker. He currently serves as the assistant special teams coach for the Los Angeles Chargers, and is the brother of San Francisco 49ers placekicker Robbie Gould. Gould has six years of experience coaching special teams, including three seasons at the collegiate level with Syracuse University from 2012–14. College career Gould went to the University of Virginia and played for the Virginia Cavaliers football team. During his freshman year, after an injury, Gould took over punting duties, kicking 18 punts for an average of 38.6 yards. As a sophomore, he started all year at punter. Early life Gray attended Therrell High School in Atlanta, Georgia and was a student and a standout in football and basketball. Marquis Floyd (born March 17, 1980) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League for the Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys. Clifford Dukes (born June 26, 1981) is an American arena football defensive lineman who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Michigan State from 2000 to 2004. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the St. Louis Rams in 2005. Dukes has also been a member of the New Orleans Saints.
