2012 ABL Grand Finals Playoffs
The 2012 ABL playoffs is the postseason of the 2012 ABL season. The four teams with the best regular season record qualify for the playoffs; the team with the higher seed is awarded the home court advantage. The semifinals are in a best-of-3 format; the team that first wins twice advances to the next round. The venues alternate between the opposing teams; the higher seed hosts game 1 and 3 (if necessary), while the lower seed hosts game 2. 2012 ABL Season
The 2012 ASEAN Basketball League season was the third season of competition of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) since its establishment. A total of eight teams will compete the league. The regular season will begin on 16 January 2012 and will end on 13 May 2012. Three teams will debut this season: the Bangkok Cobras, the San Miguel Beermen and the SSA Saigon Heat, while the Brunei Barracudas team took a leave of absence. Satria Muda BritAma was renamed into the Indonesia Warriors, while the Westports KL Dragons were renamed as the Westports Malaysia Dragons, and Singapore Slingers were renamed Jobstreet.com Singapore Slingers. San Miguel Beermen (ABL)
The San Miguel Beermen was a professional basketball team that played in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) from 2012 to 2013. The team was from the Philippines and owned by San Miguel Corporation (SMC). This franchise was separate and distinct from the original Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) franchise which played as the "Petron Blaze Boosters" when this team was active. The Beermen played most of their home games at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig but also played some of their games in the Olivarez College Gym, Ynares Center, and PhilSports Arena. Westports Malaysia Dragons
The Kuala Lumpur Dragons are a professional basketball team based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia that last played in the ASEAN Basketball League. They also played as the Blustar Detergent Dragons in the Philippines' PBA Developmental League in 2016. History In their first year of existence, they were known as the KL Dragons before becoming the Westports KL Dragons after a sponsorship deal with Westports. The Indonesia Warriors was an Indonesian professional basketball team that last competed in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL). Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, the Warriors replaced Satria Muda BritAma as Indonesia's representative in ABL. The Ynares Sports Arena is an indoor arena located in Pasig, Metro Manila, Philippines. The stadium has hosted the basketball games of the Philippine Basketball Association, Philippine Basketball League, and Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, as well as college basketball tournaments.
