2011–12 UAE Pro League
The 2011–12 UAE Pro-League, Pro League season (known as ''Etisalat Pro League'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 37th top-level football season in the UAE, and the fourth Professional season. Al-Jazira Club, Al Jazira was the defending champions, having won their 1st Pro League title in 2010–11 UAE Pro-League, the 2010–11 campaign after being runner-up for three times in a row. Al Dhafra S.C.C., Al Dhafra and Kalba Club, Ittihad Kalba were relegated from 2010–11 UAE Pro-League, the previous season. Ajman Club, Ajman and Emirates Club, Emirates were promoted from the UAE Division 1 Group A. The campaign began on 15 October 2011 and finished on 27 May 2012. Teams Kalba Club, Ittihad Kalba and Al Dhafra S.C.C., Al Dhafra were relegated to the 2011–12 UAE Division 1 Group A after finishing in the bottom two spots of the table at the end of the 2010–11 UAE Pro-League, 2010–11 season. UAE Division 1 Group A
UAE First Division League is the second tier of football league competition in the United Arab Emirates. As of 2020–21, the league features 15 sides who play each other in a home and away round-robin format, with a total of 28 games for each team. The top two sides gain promotion to the UAE Pro-League. On 29 May 2019, UAEFA announced that a UAE Second Division League to be established with smaller clubs, privately owned clubs, football academies with semi-professional teams compete for promotion to UAE Division one. On 6 July 2022, UAEFA announced that the number of participants will increase to 17 teams for the 2022–23 season. An increase of 2 teams, promoted from the UAE Second Division, and no relegation for UAE First Division clubs from the 2021–22 season, in an expansion season.
