2011–12 Topklasse
The 2011–12 Topklasse season was the second edition of the Dutch league since its inception in 2010. A total 32 teams competed in the league: 24 from the 2010–11 Topklasse, and the remaining eight from the 2010–11 Hoofdklasse. As usual, the competition was divided into two leagues: "Saturday" and "Sunday", who differ by the day their games are usually played. For this season, no team was promoted to the Eerste Divisie, due to the fact all league teams declined to apply for that. Promotion to the higher tier for a Topklasse requires it to switch into full professionalism and play on Friday nights instead of either Saturday or Sunday afternoons. The league was won by Sunday champions Achilles '29 from Groesbeek, who defeated Saturday champions SV Spakenburg in a two-legged final (5–0 aggregate). Topklasse
The Derde Divisie (; en, Third Division), formerly known as Topklasse (; en, Top Class), is the fourth tier of football in the Netherlands, which had its inaugural season as a third tier in 2010–11 and as a fourth tier in 2016–17. The league is placed between the Tweede Divisie and the Vierde Divisie (formerly Hoofdklasse), the third and fifth tiers of Dutch football, respectively. The introduction of the then Topklasse resulted from discussions between the Royal Dutch Football Association, the ''Coöperatie Eerste Divisie'' (the clubs in the Eerste Divisie) and the ''Centraal Overleg Hoofdklassers'' (the clubs in the Hoofdklasse). VV Katwijk
Voetbal Vereniging Katwijk is a Dutch football team founded in 1939, based in Katwijk, currently competing in the Dutch Tweede Divisie. History Katwijk have become Dutch amateur champions, by winning the overall Topklasse title in 2012–13. As such, they were invited to play in the Dutch Eerste Divisie but, after some consideration, the club opted to stay in the Topklasse, claiming the organisation was not yet ready to compete in the Eerste Divisie. Topklasse runners-up Achilles '29 were ultimately admitted in their place instead. Achtkarspelen
Achtkarspelen () is a municipality in Friesland in the northern Netherlands. History The name ''Achtkarspelen'', literally meaning "eight parishes", is derived from the original eight parishes within the '' grietenij'', namely: Augustinusga, Buitenpost (the capital), Drogeham, De Kooten, Kortwoude, Lutkepost, Surhuizum and Twijzel. Achtkarspelen held a separate status within Friesland for many years. In the Middle Ages Achtkarspelen fell under the Bishopric of Münster, meanwhile the rest of Friesland was a part of the Bishopric of Utrecht. Harkema
Harkema ( fry, De Harkema) is a village in the municipality of Achtkarspelen, Friesland province, the Netherlands. Harkema is in the eastern part of Friesland, 9 km north of Drachten. It was used to be known as ''Harkema-Opeinde'' and as of January 2017, the village had a population of 4,295. History The village was first mentioned in 1530 as Opeyndt. The name Harkema means "settlement of the descendants of Buwe Harkema. In 1972, the name was officially changed from Opeinde to Harkema. Harkema was originally a peat excavation settlement. The initial linear settlement which mainly consisted of sod houses disappeared in the 18th century, but re-emerged during the 19th century. In 1840, it was home to 484 people. Veenendaal () is a municipality and a town in central Netherlands, located in the province of Utrecht. Veenendaal is the only population centre within its administrative borders. Rijssen
Rijssen (; nds-nl, Riesn, ) is a city in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is part of Rijssen-Holten, one of thirteen municipalities in Twente. It has almost 28,000 inhabitants. The economy of Rijssen relies mostly on commerce and construction and transport companies. History Archeological evidence shows that the monk Lebuinus founded a church in Rijssen, as early as the seventh century, as part of a coordinated attempt to convert the local pagan Saxons to Christianity, though other archaeological finds, such as urns and grave mounds suggest habitation dating back as far as 5,000 years. IJsselmeervogels () is a Dutch amateur football club. With seven national amateur titles IJsselmeervogels is the most successful amateur club in the Netherlands. The Reds come from Bunschoten – Spakenburg, in the Dutch province Utrecht, on the shores of the former IJsselmeer lake. Rijnsburgse Boys is a football club from Rijnsburg in the Netherlands. The club was established on 24 March 1930. They currently play in the Tweede Divisie. The club won the Saturday Hoofdklasse A title in the 2005–06, 2006–07 and 2008–09 seasons. Since being founded in 1930 till 1957, the club has played on several locations in Rijnsburg.
