2011–12 Scottish League Cup
The 2011–12 Scottish League Cup was the 66th season of Scotland's second-most prestigious football knockout competition, the Scottish League Cup, also known as the Scottish Communities League Cup for sponsorship reasons. It was won by Kilmarnock Format The competition is a single elimination knock-out competition. In each round, fixtures are determined by random draw, with the First Round to Third Round seeded according to last season's league positions (higher 50% of finishers drawn v lower 50% of finishers, alternating which is at home with each tie drawn). Fixtures are played to a finish, with extra time and then penalties used in the event of ties. The competition is open to all clubs in the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League. The Excelsior Stadium, officially The Albert Bartlett Stadium, is a football stadium in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is the home ground of Airdrieonians of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL). Since the 2021–22 season it has also been used by Celtic for the home matches of their women's team in the Scottish Women's Premier League (SWPL) and B team in the Scottish Lowland Football League, as well as by Glasgow University F.C. of the West of Scotland Football League. Cowdenbeath () is a town and burgh in west Fife, Scotland. It is north-east of Dunfermline and north of the capital, Edinburgh. Glebe Park (known as the "Carnegie Fuels Stadium at Glebe Park" for sponsorship reasons) is a association football, football stadium in Brechin, Scotland, which is the home ground of Brechin City F.C., Brechin City. Glebe Park opened in 1919. The ground had just one portable stand, which had been used at the Perth, Scotland, Perth agricultural show. Brechin City joined the Scottish Football League in 1929–30 in Scottish football, 1929, when a pavilion was added and the Cemetery End terrace was covered. The biggest ever attendance was 8,123, against Aberdeen F.C., Aberdeen in a Scottish Cup tie played on 3 February 1973. This attendance was greater than the population of Brechin. Brechin (; ) is a town and former royal burgh in Angus, Scotland. Galabank is a Association football, football stadium in the town of Annan, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. It is the home ground of Scottish Professional Football League club Annan Athletic F.C., Annan Athletic, who have played there since 1953.
