2011–12 Martyr's Memorial A-Division League
The 2011 Martyr's Memorial A-Division League (known as the Martyrs' Memorial Red Bull 'A' Division League Football Tournament 2011 for sponsorship reasons) was the 39th season of the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League, A-Division League since its establishment in 1954/55. A total of 18 teams competed in the league. The season began on 28 April 2011 and concluded on 16 July 2011. Defending champions Nepal Police Club won the league. A record of 18 teams participated in the league, playing a total of 153 matches. The timing also had to be reduced to final constraints and the timing of world cup qualifiers. The major was due the inception of National League (Nepal), National League as the top-tier league of country. Therefore, the league returned to single leg round robin formation. Martyr's Memorial A-Division League
Martyr's Memorial A-Division League ( Nepali: शहीद स्मारक ए- डिभिजन लिग; formerly known as the Kathmandu League Championship) also known as the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial A-Division League for sponsorship reasons, is a professional football league in Nepal and the highest level of the Nepalese football league system. Administered and organized by All Nepal Football Association, it is contested by 14 teams, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Martyr's Memorial B-Division League. The season usually runs from November to March with each team playing every other team twice. A new Nepal National League was created in 2011 to give a chance to compete at A level tournaments to the clubs outside Kathmandu valley. 2008 Martyr's Memorial B-Division League
The 2008 Martyr's Memorial B-Division League was the 2008 season of the Martyr's Memorial B-Division League. A total of 9 teams competed in the league. The season began on 9 September 2008 and concluded on 29 September February 2006. Swayambhu Club won the league and was promoted along with Himalayan Sherpa Club, Bansbari Club, and Koilapani Polestar Club. Being based in Nawalparasi, Koilapani would therefore become the first ever team from outside the Kathmandu Valley to be promoted to the A-Division League. Friends Club
Friends Club is a Nepali professional football club from the Kopundole neighborhood of Lalitpur. The club is known for nurturing young talent of Nepalese football. Friends Club has produced more than 200 national football players to date. It also organized certain social activities like reading room facilities, blood donations, bicycle rallies against drug abuse etc. Since the late 1980s, the club has implemented different training activities for women and children. New Road Team
New Road Team Football Club (NRT FC) (; better known by its abbreviation NRT Football Club) is a Nepalese multi-sports club, widely known for its football achievements. The club is based in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu. They compete in the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League. History NRT was established in 1991 BS (1934 AD). Besides sports, the club was also active in mobilizing youth against the autocratic Rana regime. NRT is one of the oldest existing club in Nepal. The club took part in the Asian Club Championship in 1996, in which they were eliminated from the first round suffering 2(2)–2(4) defeat to the Indian club JCT. Manang Marshyangdi Club () is a Nepali professional football club based in Kathmandu, that competes in the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League. The club has won the National Championship title a record 8 times. Historically, they have had a fierce rivalry in domestic Nepalese football with Three Star Club and Nepal Police Club, a departmental team. Their other rivals include New Road Team.
