2011–12 Juventus FC Season
The 2011–12 season was Juventus Football Club's 114th in existence and fifth consecutive season in the top flight of Italian football. In Serie A, the club won their first league title since 2006; they had won two Serie A titles in the meantime ( 2004–05 and 2005–06) but were stripped of both as a result of the ''Calciopoli'' scandal. Season review Former club captain and fan favourite Antonio Conte was officially appointed as the new manager on 31 May 2011, taking over the post previously left vacant following the sacking of Luigi Delneri. It was Conte's first appointment at a major Serie A club; he previously managed Siena, Arezzo, Atalanta, and Bari respectively, winning two Serie A promotions in the process (with Bari and Siena). 2004–05 Juventus FC Season
The 2004–05 season was Juventus FC's 107th in existence and 103rd consecutive season in the top flight of Italian football. Juventus won the league title for the 28th time in this season; the following year, Juventus were stripped of this title and sent to Serie B due to the ''Calciopoli'' scandal. Season summary Juventus Football Club returned to domestic glory in the first season under Fabio Capello's reign. The former Juventus midfielder had a positive influence on the Juventus squad, and it seemed as though he had led the club to its 28th league title. However, that was all to change a year afterwards when Calciopoli sent Juventus to Serie B. On the pitch in 2004–05, Swedish signing Zlatan Ibrahimović was the biggest positive surprise. Massimo Carrera
Massimo Carrera (; born 22 April 1964) is an Italian professional football manager and former player. Nicknamed ''La Bandera'', he played as a defender for various European clubs, including Juventus, which he later managed, and the Italy national team. Club career Carrera began his career at Pro Sesto, but rose to fame with Bari, enjoying five seasons with the club before moving to Juventus in 1991. Under manager Giovanni Trapattoni, he was deployed at right back, a role he had also held at Bari. He disputed an excellent first season, culminating with being called up for the Italy national team. In his second season, he won the UEFA Cup with the club. Carrera unwittingly played a huge role in helping Milan go unbeaten in the 1991–92 Serie A season. Angelo Alessio
Angelo Alessio (born 29 April 1965 in Capaccio) is an Italian football manager and former player. Playing career A central midfielder, Alessio started his professional career with then-Serie A club Avellino in 1984. He was then signed by Italian powerhouse Juventus in 1987, with whom he played until 1992 (except for a season loan at Bologna in 1988–89), winning a Coppa Italia–UEFA Cup double in 1990. He then moved to Serie A club Bari, before to join Cosenza in the Serie B and then returning to Avellino (now in Serie C1) in 1997. He ended his career in 1998 after a season with Modena. Coaching career After retirement, Alessio joined Napoli as a coaching staff member, first in charge of the youth teams and subsequently as a first team assistant.
