2011–12 Scottish Challenge Cup
The 2011–12 Scottish Challenge Cup, known as the Ramsdens Challenge Cup due to sponsorship reasons with Ramsdens, was the 21st season of the competition. It was competed for by 32 clubs, which included the 30 members of the Scottish Football League, and for the first time the top two clubs of the Highland Football League. The defending champions were Ross County, who defeated Queen of the South in the 2010 final but were knocked out in the first round by Third Division side Elgin City. The tournament winners were Falkirk, who defeated Hamilton Academical in the final with Darren Dods scoring the only goal of the match in the 2nd minute. The league sits at level 6 on the Scottish football league system, acting as a feeder to the Lowland Football League. Forres (; ) is a town and former royal burgh in the north of Scotland on the Moray coast, approximately northeast of Inverness and west of Elgin. The 2011–12 Highland Football League began on 30 July 2011 and ended on 16 May 2012. The top two clubs at the end of the season, will receive direct entry to the second round of the 2012–13 Scottish Cup. The highest placed two clubs who have obtained an SFA club licence will qualify to enter the 2012–13 Scottish Challenge Cup. The league was won by Forres Mechanics. 2011–12 Scottish Junior Cup
The 2011–12 Scottish Junior Cup was the 126th season of the Scottish Junior Cup, the national knockout tournament for member clubs of the Scottish Junior Football Association. The competition is sponsored by Emirates and is known as The Emirates Junior Cup for sponsorship purposes. 164 clubs entered this season's tournament, an increase of two from 2010–11. The four new SJFA member clubs – Colony Park, Falkirk Juniors, Portgordon Victoria and Rossvale – made their first appearance. Missing from the previous season were Arbroath Sporting Club who had folded and Scone Thistle who were in abeyance. Shotts Bon Accord won the trophy for the second time in their history, defeating cup holders Auchinleck Talbot, 2–1, in the final at Almondvale Stadium.
