2011–12 Hong Kong Senior Challenge Shield was the 111th season of one of the Asian oldest football knockout competitions, Hong Kong Senior Challenge Shield. Starting from this season, the format changed into a two-legged home-and-away ties competition. The winner Sunray Cave JC Sun Hei had guaranteed a place in the 2013 AFC Cup. Sun Hei Sports Club () is a Hong Kong professional football club which currently competes in the Hong Kong Second Division. The club has a long history in playing in the top flight, but decided to self-relegate in the 2013–14 season after declining to participate in the newly established Hong Kong Premier League. Kitchee Sports Club (; ; ) is a Hong Kong professional Association football, football club based in Kowloon. It was founded in 1931 and currently competes in the Hong Kong Premier League. Yuen Long Stadium () is a multi-purpose stadium in Yuen Long, New Territories, Hong Kong. The stadium is currently closed for renovations with a targeted reopening by July 2025. History Originally a piece of vacant land next to Shui Bin Village, the stadium was built by the Yuen Long District Sports Association with local support. It was constructed by Yuen Long Cheong Kee Construction for HK$198,000 in 1965. The stadium opened on 15 December 1969 with a First Division match between Yuen Long and Fire Services. Daniel "Dani" Cancela Rodríguez (; born 23 September 1981) is a former professional footballer who played as a left-back. Born in Spain, he spent most of his career with Kitchee in Hong Kong after signing in 2010, eventually going on to represent the Hong Kong national team. Jordi Tarrés Páramo (alternately Jorge Tarrés Páramo, ; born 16 March 1981) is a former professional footballer who played as a forward. Chu Siu Kei
Chu Siu Kei (; born 11 January 1980) is a former Hong Kong professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He is currently the head coach of Hong Kong Premier League club Lee Man. Club career Chu was a member of the Sun Hei squad that won five trophies (League, Silver Shield, League Cup, FA Cup and Hong Kong Football Sevens) during the 2004–05 season. He scored a total of three goals for Sun Hei in the 2008–09 Hong Kong First Division League season as the club finished 5th in the league table. Hisanori Takada
was a Japanese professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Takada started his goalkeeper career in Japan, and made moves to England, Ireland, Norway, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong, and Indonesia across his playing career.
