The 2011–12 1. FSV Mainz 05 season is the club's 106th year of existence. They participated in the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and the UEFA Europa League. Review and events On 19 November, the match against Mainz 05 was cancelled after the referee for the match, Babak Rafati, attempted suicide. The match was eventually rescheduled for 13 December. Mainz 05 were eliminated from the DFB-Pokal by Holstein Kiel. For the winter break, Mainz 05 returned to practice on 3 January 2012 at 10:00 CET ( UTC+01) and had training camp in Llucmajor, Majorca, from 6 January to 12 January. Thomas Tuchel
Thomas Tuchel (; born 29 August 1973) is a German professional Association football, football manager and former player who last managed Premier League club Chelsea F.C., Chelsea. Bo Svensson
Bo Svensson (born 4 August 1979) is a Danish professional football coach and a former defender. He is currently managing Mainz 05. He has played three games for the Denmark national football team. Playing career Svensson was born in Skørping, Northern Jutland. He started playing youth football with Copenhagen club Kjøbenhavns Boldklub (KB), the reserve team of F.C. Copenhagen (FCK). He was moved from KB into the FCK squad in June 1999, and got his FCK debut in September 1999, under FCK manager Kim Brink. He was soon a FCK regular team member, and was called up for the Danish under-21 national team in March 2000. With FCK, he won the 2001 Danish Superliga championship under manager Roy Hodgson, and the 2003 Superliga under manager Hans Backe. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting
Jean-Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (born 23 March 1989) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Bayern Munich. Born in Germany, he plays for the Cameroon national team. Choupo-Moting began his career with Hamburger SV, making his Bundesliga debut in August 2007. He spent the 2009–10 season on loan at 1. FC Nürnberg and in August 2011 he joined 1. FSV Mainz 05. Papiss Cissé
Papiss Demba Cissé (; born 3 June 1985) is a Senegalese professional footballer who plays as a forward for Ligue 2 club Amiens. He formerly played for the Senegal national football team. Formerly of SC Freiburg, he once held the record of most goals scored by an African player in a single Bundesliga campaign – 22 in the 2010–11 season.
