2011 Vietnam Open Grand Prix
The 2011 Vietnam Open Grand Prix (officially known as the Yonex-Sunrise Vietnam Grand Prix Open 2011 for sponsorship reasons) was a badminton tournament which took place at Phan Dinh Phung Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from 22 to 28 August and had a total purse of $50,000. Tournament The 2011 Vietnam Open Grand Prix was the ninth Grand Prix's badminton tournament of the 2011 BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix and also part of the Vietnam Open championships which have been held since 1996. This tournament was organized by the Vietnam Badminton Federation, with the local organizer committee Ho Chi Minh City Badminton Association, and sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation. This tournament attracted more than 300 players from 23 countries and territories to compete in 5 events: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. Sho Sasaki
is a retired Japanese badminton player from the Tonami Transportation team. He competed in the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio Olympics. He also participated in four Asian Games from 2002 to 2014. Career In 2007, he won the All Japan Badminton Championships in men's singles and 7 international tournaments: the Bahrain Satellite, the Banuinvest International, the Osaka International, the Israel International, the Mauritius International, the Victorian International, and the Italian International. Sony Dwi Kuncoro
Sony Dwi Kuncoro (born 7 July 1984) is an Indonesian former badminton player. He was the 2004 Olympic bronze medalist, two-time World Championships medalist (silver–2007, bronze–2009) and three-time Asian Champion (2002, 2003, 2005). He reached a career high as world number 3 on 7 October 2004. Keigo Sonoda
is a Japanese badminton player. He affiliated with the YKK AP Yatsushiro, before joining the Tonami team in 2010. Sonoda was part of the national team that won the 2014 Thomas Cup. He captured his first Superseries title at the 2016 Hong Kong Open, and reached a career high of world number 2 in the men's doubles partnered with Takeshi Kamura in January 2017. Rajah Menuri Venkata Gurusaidutt (born 1 March 1990), known as Gurusai Dutt, is a badminton player from India. He trains at the Hyderabad's Gopichand Badminton Academy. He won the gold medal at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games and the bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. He competed at the 2014 Asian Games. Liew Daren (born 6 August 1987) is a Malaysian former badminton player. His biggest success throughout his career is having won the 2012 French Super Series, 2012 French Open Super Series. Ashton Chen Yong Zhao (; born 9 September 1989) is a Singaporean retired badminton player and a former national champion. Career Chen was part of the South East Asian Games men's team that won silver medal in the 2007 edition and bronze medals in the 2009, 2011 editions. Derek Wong (born Wong Zi Liang, traditional Chinese: 黃梓良, 13 January 1989) is a retired Singaporean badminton player. Wong is a two-time Olympian, who took part at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, where he was flag bearer in the latter's Parade of Nations. Early life Wong was born on 13 January 1989, in Singapore, to parents Wong Shoon Keat and Irene Lee. He grew up in a badminton-loving family with three other brothers (Shawn, Jamie and Jason).
