Wigan
Wigan ( ) is a town in Greater Manchester, England. The town is midway between the two cities of Manchester, to the south-east, and Liverpool, to the south-west. Steven Brown (born 25 January 1981) is an English professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career He has competed on the PDC Pro Tour since 2006, regularly reaching the last 64 of events. His best performances came in the 2007 Windy City Open in Chicago and the 2007 UK Open Irish Regional where he reached the quarter-finals. He also made it to the last 16 of the 2007 Peachtree Open and 2007 Hayling Island PDPA Players Championship. His consistency on the Pro Tour during 2007 saw him qualify for the 2008 PDC World Darts Championship for the first time. He was the fifth highest ranked player on the Pro Tour of those who had not sealed an automatic place in the tournament. Robert Thornton (darts Player)
Robert Thornton (born 17 July 1967) is a Scottish professional darts player. He competes in World Seniors Darts (WSD) events; he has won the WSD World Championship twice. He also won the 2022 World Seniors Matchplay. Thorton previously participated in British Darts Organisation (BDO) tournaments; he won the 2007 Winmau World Masters and 2008 Dutch Open. He switched to the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) in 2008. He won two PDC major titles; the UK Open in 2012, and World Grand Prix in 2015. Additionally, Thornton won eleven titles on the PDC Pro Tour. BDO career Thornton returned to playing darts in 2002, having given up the game for two decades to raise his children. Brendan Dolan
Brendan Gabriel Dolan (born 2 August 1973) is a Northern Irish professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He was the first player to hit a nine-dart finish in a "double-to-start" event (where a player must hit a double to begin play), which he achieved at the 2011 World Grand Prix, giving him the nickname the History Maker. He also reached the final of this tournament, where he lost to Phil Taylor. On the PDC Pro Tour, Dolan lost his first seven finals before winning his maiden ranking title in 2013. Scott Rand (born 4 July 1975) is an English former professional darts player who played in Professional Darts Corporation events. Career Rand joined the PDC in April 2010, and within a month qualified for the UK Open. He defeated Andy Murray and Jyhan Artut before losing to Tony Broughton in the last 96. In May 2011, he reached the semi-finals of a Players Championship in Crawley. This result helped him to qualify for the 2011 World Matchplay, where he lost 6–10 to Wayne Jones in the first round. Ronnie Baxter
Ronnie Baxter (born 5 February 1961) is an English former professional darts player who competed in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He used the nickname "The Rocket" for his matches. Baxter was known for his fast robotic throwing action. He currently resides in his hometown Blackpool. Baxter is widely regarded as one of the best players never to have won a major TV title. He is still active on the exhibition circuit. BDO Baxter played on the North American circuit during the 1980s and when he participated in the British Darts Organisation he had a consistent record for reaching the final stages of their Open events. Stephen Maish (born 22 November 1963) is an English former professional darts player who competed in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He used the nickname Mr Magic for his matches. Career Maish made his televised debut at the 2003 UK Open beating Vic Hubbard but lost 5–0 to former World Champion Steve Beaton. Denis Ovens
Denis Ovens (born 1 July 1957) is an English former professional darts player. He is nicknamed "The Heat" and is now based in Stevenage. Ovens is regarded as one of the most consistent players in the circuit, though he has as yet failed to convert his form from the circuit to the big stages on television. His constant second-round exits in numerous televised tournaments have led him to be called by commentators as "The Nearly Man". Paul Nicholson (darts Player)
Paul Michael Nicholson (born 10 May 1979) is an English former professional darts player who played in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). He won a major event, the 2010 Players Championship Finals, where he defeated Mervyn King in the final. He was also the runner-up to Phil Taylor in the 2011 Championship League Darts, and part of the Australia team which lost a sudden death shoot-out to England in the 2012 PDC World Cup of Darts final. Nicholson also acts as a sports commentator and TV and radio pundit. He was nicknamed "The Asset", and was known for coming on to the stage with sunglasses, and was also known for his professional wrestling-style walk ons, using the song "Club Foot" as his walk on music for most of his career. Aodhagan Bernard O'Neill (born 28 October 1959) is an Irish former professional darts player who played in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career O'Neill won the 2009 Tom Kirby Memorial Irish Matchplay beating Jason Cullen, Benny Grace and William O'Connor, earning him a place in the 2010 PDC World Darts Championship. Michael Rosenauer
Michael Rosenauer (born 13 July 1966) is a German professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career Rosenauer created controversy when he chose to play in the 2008 PDC World Darts Championship, having won qualification for the 2008 BDO World Darts Championship. Rosenauer claimed one of the places for the event at the Lakeside, but at the same time, he topped the German Darts Corporation Order of Merit, which grants a place in the PDC World Championship and in the end, he withdrew from the BDO World Championship to play in the PDC version instead.
